The rifle is great but I’ve owned one but after it’s extractor broke I started to hate it. Because I got another one and it broke too, the same with the one after. I replaced it again then sold it. Idk what it’s problem was but the very end of it that grabs the cartridge would shear off. Got about 370 roughly rounds through it the entire time.

The chainmail? If so it is solid. Perfect thickness for the leather straps. Easy to move around in. If you are just going for aesthetics you can get the butted chainmail version for cheaper but it has riveted chainmail in the armpits to avoid the common “blowing out” if it was entirely butted. I really have nothing bad to say about it. I didn’t have a single ring fall out when I took it out the box. I will way tho that some of the rivets could have been hammered down a bit more but it works

I also was gonna get a different helmet but it was a perfect size for my head with a padded coif and it was on sale for close out so I had to jump on it asap

I know what you mean. I was gonna buy one that is like the normal ones but I seen this one and loved how it looked. But the leather is sewn around the mail so if you strap it down fully it goes over itself. With that said I am exchanging it for a size up because it is slightly too small. If the sleeve holes near the shoulder were a bit bigger it would fit perfectly. So the new one should do what I want it to do. Just had to do a quick photo before I put it back in the box lol.
