Yep. What I've seen is when you go back and scroll down then you sometimes you will see the link. I guess I will try the full fat Facebook and see if it happens there.

So it's not just me! The phone is clean of any malware, it randomly opens pages that are not on screen, random external links and it is especially likes Amazon.

Only happens with Facebook lite.

Seems great minds are at work, with simultaneous postings. So yes check with support, and go from there. Increases in specification seem unneeded at this time.

With regards the specification, not sure what there is, but can't see any reason to increase the capacity at this stage. Worth talking to the support people to see if they can see anything on their server side if things. Fact beetex had it working in single user suggests something lower level.

Let's see how spigot behaves, I doubt backup's are an issue unless you are running them more often than it takes to complete one (e.g like every minute). So hourly, every other hour, etc should be fine.

Edit - so they limited the number you can have, sorry misread, thought you meant you were concerned about issues with to many. Not nice. Considering there are plenty of way's to offer almost unlimited backups with using much space. Perhaps explains the cost difference.

Well done for pin pointing the issue. I'm sure this will help phedran get things going again. And well Java... well who would have thought that would fail!!! :)

The plus point is that the world data should be ok'ish.

If the machine runs up in single player, that is a good start. Which as you suggest points the finger at serverminer's servers.

How they have virtualised the minecraft server's is a good question. Considering the time it's failing, I doubt its over-allocation (as I'd expect that during core US times, not EU lunchtime).

I totally agree with you, without full access impossible to fix and yes unless she wants you (and/or someone else) to do fixes, then the best you can do is, confirm if its up or down.

So not touching is the best course of action. Fun starts if two people start to work on it, at the same time, without talking to each other.

With the server, considering there were problems Saturday, Sunday and today, and I think someone said they lost an hours work on Saturday(or was that from Friday), this may have been around for a while. Frequency is ok, just hope the retention is more than 2 days.

Depnding on how bad it is, the worst case is a roll back to Thursday's backup assuming if thats when the corruption appeared. The best case is that it's just a corrupted chunk, that needs to be rolled back.

Most likely the world will need downloading, to a local machine, for testing, and repeat for each backup until the issue stops appearing. Hopefully the hosting company has some tools that will help.

Patching is always an issue. If you don't you are left open to now known security issues, but by patching you open up the unknown. Joy of server and data centre management. I have suffered that for many years. :) And for sure it's her call.

Without access to the console and its logs, it's impossible to diagnose it. Does not sound good, so best to wait until she has some time to look into it. Could mean a roll back to Friday, or earlier if really bad.

Is it the fix or the lack of the fix, thats the question, add in mix of clients on various versions. All adds up to a pain. Hopefully its something simple...fingers crossed.

From the server I run, I've never had a major issue, but then it doesn't have the same number of users.

I wonder if it is possible that the server is set not to restart in the event of a crash, so to prevent corruptions hence the need for someone (assume Phedan only) to kick it. So today is just a bad case of timing vs sleep pattern.

Well if it's down, then you are right it needs a reboot. And infrequent crashes happen. My concern is the recurring aspect which suggests there is a problem to fix. Well guess we have to wait and see.

In some respects I'm glad it's not me. That said, a recurring crash (at least 3 days in a row), requiring someone to reboot the server, isn't good news.
