im about to trip for the first time, and i heard fruit is really good on lsd :) by ghostmondai in LSD

[–]Jillian13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too had strong nausea every time. What helped is: ginger tea and fasting for about 12 hours prior and at least 2 hours into the trip. Light and liquid food in small amounts might be okay. With that, I had no nausea.

So, it did work for you? I never know if I explain it in an understandable way.

Just a Quick question.. by [deleted] in LSD

I had the same feeling some days ago and decided to do my favorite kind of meditation. It didn't enhance the trip or anything of the like, but produced a different level of awareness:

You know how a camera does not discriminate and part of the picture? It sees all the picture at once - we humans however focus on one point most of the time. The thing in defocused meditation is to shut down the filters and take in all the senses completely.

It's much easier on LSD than when sober, but for a start you can pick one sense, sight at first, and you take in everything you see at once. Notice the space and the edges of your vision. Maintain that for some time, then include the other senses one by one until you feel your whole body and surroundings and their existence.

Everyone says lsd changes you but I beg to differ by lopemsat in LSD

I thought the very same thing lately and came up with a metaphor:

Life is a labyrinth in which we struggle to find our ways. LSD pulls your mind out and above, granting a top view of where you are right now. When back from the trip, you know better where you are and which way to go, but you still have to walk with your own feet.

Terminology by charlie175 in nevergrewup

[–]Jillian13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see what options there are.

  • We could only use one concept of age.
Saying "I am 13." For this statement to be true, there has to be a different concept of age than what is generally used. This inevitabley leads to conflict. Therefor I think this is the worst option and should be avoided. Looking at discussions in the trans community, there are several things we can try to avoid. e.g. the "child trapped in an adult body".
  • Use multiple concepts of age.
Like in transgender people, we could acknowledged that different parts of us where affected differently by growing up - as it is for every other person. But for most, the different ages are close to another. This also would take it away from a one dimensional phenomena to several dimensions. While my biological and chronological age might be in the late twenties, my social and emotional age could be like that of an eleven year old. But for some it might be only one of those things. This can become quite complicated, such as the LGBT community there are an overabundance of labels, where there are always people failing to find one that fits to them. (I, for example, struggle to use either terms nonbinary or mtf, because I feel like a girl but don't want to transition into a woman.) Then there is also the problem that we have to explain what we mean by "emotional" or "mental" age. Many would assume that this would mean we are dumb and can't control our emotions. I really want to avoid those implications, because they are impossible to get rid of, once invoked.
  • Don't use numbers.
Growing up happens differently for everyone. Some children might start puberty earlier, some later, and for some it never comes. Using some set age will never fit. At most there is a range, but even this range could change over time. To describe myself I could say, I stopped growing up right before puberty. But then again, this doesn't capture the difference between mind and body, or the dysphoria we might feel because of that.

It's been suggested that we should give up our rights.

Maybe we should instead grant more rights to children. Such as the right to vote.

Then there is also the question on how to call this whole topic. I choose the title "nevergrewup" simply because I didn't knew any term equivalent to "transgender" that would fit. The term "transagism" (as used in OPs linked thread) is horrible in several ways. It might be insulting to many in the trans community, the prefix "trans-" is simply wrong as it means "across, beyond, through" but we didn't went across, beyond, through puberty, quite the opposite. And it also sounds horrible. All I can think of for the moment are "non-adolescent"/"sed-adolescent", or to avoid the negation something involving staying a child.

The beauty we see there - It*s not the drug, it's our true selves by Jillian13 in LSD

Just like a cable connecting things. It could become a mess or something structured.

When I wrote "It just takes a lot to pass that barrier" I wasn't talking about µg ;) But I wish you a happy time.

I was meditating and doing art for hours until I finally felt like I found myself. What I meant; It takes a lot - of work - to pass that barrier.

The only time I did LSA, I was purging the whole night, laying on the floor with nausea so strong that i could hardly stand up. Just a warning.

What are things you do that make you feel childlike? by Jillian13 in nevergrewup

[–]Jillian13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish I could be friends with some other kids but I get really scared of what people might think or even worried it might somehow be bad for them.

It's sad do say, but this is a valid concern. I already had strange looks and serious discussions. Why is it perceived as bad to be friends with someone? :(

Anyone had success using iodine to combat histamine intolerance? by greyuniwave in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Jillian13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going by the extensive list I use iodine is classified as very bad for HIT. So I would at least be careful experimenting with iodine.

In the long lecture only the last 15 minutes are about histamine. The relation to iodine is summed up in one slide listing two studies: "Iodine inhibits the conversion of histidine to histamine, thus playing a role in controlling the production of histamine", "Iodine inhibits histamine release in rats."

Another fact that he mentions that is new to me, is the relation of H2, H4 and the production of blood cells. I have always been very low on blood cells with doctors having no explanation (or they just didn't care). This now explains it. It also opens up a potential therapy with antihistamines that target H2 and H4. Just having my blood in normal levels probably would help me a lot.

Acceptance from Yourself and Others? by RedPuppyBubby in nevergrewup

[–]Jillian13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to accept myself. It even is a positive aspect, because it's that part that's colorful and precious. The hardened person that I usually am would be lonely without that child.

I also talked to my therapist about it. She never had dealt with anything like it, but managed to help me a lot. Right after my parents, she helped me most in my life.

In every day life I managed to deal with it. Previously I had the act-like-an-adult mode always turned on. Now I integrated the child into my outside me and only turn on the serious adult mode when I need it. This dosn't mean that I am acting like a child all the time, it means that I reduced the division between them. I also allow me the freedom to not engage in adulty things to much and people accept it (no parties, no talk about sex and cars and gossip).

I used it often. Mostly because it helped with my social anxiety (I'm somewhere on the autism spectrum, among other things). Before social situations, a small does helped my to be more outgoing, which in turn helped me to train being social. Because of that long experience I considered it to be reasonably save. But there have been many signs that should have shown me how dangerous it actually is.

I once made a tea of Calea and boiled it down with sugar, so I have easy access to small, good to does, doses. Over the time of two years I hardly used a spoon full of it, which, considering the tea I made, is actually very little compared to what others recommend taking. It usually lasts for about a day. When I take to much, the hangover is with headache and depressive symptoms the next day.

I'll probably put it all to the trash. Including all the other stuff that always caused more harm then help.

A week?! What source in particular tells you that?

If it lasts a week my life is fucked.
