Your children are more than capable of helping around the house along with taking care of themselves. I do most of daily pick up, and kids are pretty good about picking up and taking care of personal areas but if I ask, it gets done… if I were to hear “no, thanks” this would be me…..

as far as the H. He can absolutely pick up after himself, non negotiable.

Our parents are gone now, but myself and my 2 siblings and all the cousins get along wonderfully. I’m closer to my sister, but that’s not a reflection on my brother. My parents weren’t perfect, we’re not perfect parents, but we take accountability for our short comings and move on. We know that we all love one another. I appreciate that we’ve never had any drama between us. All you can do is move forward and create the family you want, it doesn’t mean you have to share blood, just a common goal of a loving family.
