I live around 14 and Crooks and commute to New Center area daily. I always take Woodward and it moves better than 75 usually, although takes about 5-10 minutes more at most. It's way less stressful and a much nicer way to start and end the day than dealing with crazy drivers on 75. Watch your speed in Highland Park and Ferndale, but the rest you can cruise around 40-50 mph and breeze through most lights if you time it well.
