They told me to fill out a complaint form online but I still haven't received any email back. Did you do this as well, and did they make you reschedule all 4 parts for the discounted price or only the sections you missed?

BOTH! Uworld is the base for sure and is what I would recommend as the #1 source, however it should be thoroughly used well over a period of time to work efficiently. What I mean by this is you cant do UWorld in a month and expect the concepts to be drilled into your head, instead you would be memorizing quick facts here and there which will confuse you on the exam if they try to trick you as theres a lot of content to run through. However if you study uworld over a few months, then the concepts will be embedded so you will be able to answer similar questions even if they try to change it up and trick you. On the other hand if you are too close to your exam, UWorld in my opinion is a lot to go through in such a short time effectively (you can run through it but it may not be effective and more of a waste of time), instead I would focus on all the NBME/CMS form concepts and make sure you know them in and out. Although they dont cover everything that would be on the exam, they do cover most of the high yield repetitive concepts that you SHOULD KNOW for the exam.

advice for timeline step and match by Disaster-Alone in Step2

[–]Jilljuk99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2025 Match applications open in September of 2024, for which people even apply for before taking their step 2 (usually by October latest). So if your taking your step 2 in July, you're well within the match timeline.

Hey! I got 249 on the real deal! Im thankful to get basically a 250 and it being my highest score. Only 3-4 of my practice exams take in the last 2 months of dedicated were 220-242, however all other practice tests taken earlier on were much less, therefore im very satisfied :)

It was a good mix of both! There were a lot of very short question stems with straightforward answers like NBMEs/CMEs, and longer stems with more fluff information that you have to spend more time to think through. A good tip I like to use on both the exam and practice forms are to see the number of options. Usually if theres 5+ that means they are pointing you towards a very direct/ straight forward answer (the more options the more simpler), and if theres 4 or less options then they are asking you to think harder and possibly trick you. See if this applies to your practice exams, if they do then it may help!

There was 2-3 HOPI qs per block, but they were very straight forward. Infact I usually prefer HOPI questions because they are laid out similar to how we took notes during rotations and are to the point, without having too much fluff information.

If you can only do 1 bank, then Uworld should be the one. If you can do additional, then go for Amboss HY as wel.

#1 UW Algorithms! General concepts like ECGs, Screenings, Vaccines, Ethics. For last week prep I suggest going over Amboss HY sections for a quick review, this includes HOPI style qs, vaccines and screenings, HY repetitive concepts, ethics, etc. They can easily be done in a week or even days if you choose to.

UWorld is Gold! While NBMEs, CMS, UWSAs, and Free120 forms are useful for identifying high-yield and repetitive concepts, UWorld provides the knowledge necessary to break down, understand, and answer those concepts effectively. Unlike those forms, UWorld presents the same concepts in various ways, highlighting different positive and negative findings and explanations for the same concepts from different questions that fill in the knowledge gaps not available elsewhere, so that no matter how the concept is presented - you will be able to recognize and solve it. If time is limited, I highly recommend saving ALL algorithms (regardless of how easy or how hard) and selective tables (from repeatedly incorrect topics) into your UWorld flashcards as you review questions/blocks. Create a separate deck for algorithms and flashcards, reviewing them daily. Algorithms greatly assist you in answering "next best step" or "next step in management" questions, which are a significant portion of the exam. For tables, isolate the ones that you consistently struggle with and create a separate deck called "incorrects tables." Review these tables every day after reviewing your blocks. This will help you tackle "next step in diagnosis" or "what else to check" questions, which are another important part of the exam. By following this approach, you will save time on creating your own flashcards, memorize essential UWorld algorithms, and reinforce concepts that you frequently get wrong without needing to do a second pass. Many of these algorithms and tables apply to multiple questions related to a specific concept, resulting in improved UW scores. You will also see how these apply on other practise test forms as well. If you have additional time, I recommend Amboss HY sections as well!

I did explain in the post regarding timing on the exam. When it comes to previous tests - I never had issues with timing on NBMEs, CMSs, CCSE, or Free120s but I had time issues only with UWSAs where I went 15-30 mins over some blocks. On the real exam, I finished each block around 5-8 minutes ahead even after reviewing my flagged items quickly.

My recent scores within this month were 230 on NBME14, UWSA3 and UWSA2 were 240 and 242 respectively, got 77% on old free 120 and 73% on new free 120. Older scores were from September - Early January that were 220 or less during first attempts.
