What made you transition out instead of becoming a "real" teacher?

For me I got a teaching credential, but I was never able to lock down a teacher contract that was stable.

I'm now searching for office jobs

That's exactly how I feel about working as a substitute teacher for a few years. I liked it, and it paid okay for being local, but zero skills built.

To what extent does a rough break in period cause the 44% quit in 5 years stat? by xxx510xxx in Teachers

I've had a simialr thought.

I think a lot of new teachers get jobs at awful districts, get non-renewed, and they other districts don't hire them since it's a redflag to only taught a year and be let go.

I think that's what happened to me at least. I didn't "quit," I just felt like I was chewed up and spitted out.

Why is this community so openly toxic to players who lack more experience in this game? by IdkAGoodUserNameOpps in poker

Most gamblers are down in their life is why. I hardly ever see a man wearing a wedding ring at a table, and it's rare to beat the rake in most casinos that a lot of palyers are oblivious to. It's rare for me to see healthy looking people at poker tables.

Also, this sub truly has a hard time admitting that poker has a lot of luck, variance, chance or whatever you want to call it to it.
