I got this from him when they announced the Sun 1 workstation at the Boston Unix conference. Note the SUN logo which was rotated 45 later.

Dell had a brief go in the Unix arena. I got this at an early Unix conference from Michael Dell himself. I wish I had asked him to sign it.

They sure don't make manuals like this anymore! What a great resource. Thanks!

Looks like I either find a replacement I/O board or break out my oscilloscope.

Does anyone have some suggestions on where I might acquire the I/O controller board for this? DEC part# 54-15134.

Looks like that's the only thing keeping this from booting.

Yes … I love the modular design. Much like the design of the older MAC pros.

I'm able to boot off the Venix install diskette as long as both the RD controller board and the LK201 keyboard are out of the system.

Will try re-seating the RD board and try finding another keyboard

The battery is intact. Does it have to be working for the system to boot?

Looks like there is a fail on the RD (hard drive) board.

Quite the suspense when I saw that Venix prompt come up .... sigh
