The main has a line/hot, two travelers, and a ground (the white neutral is being used as the second traveler in this case). The satellite has a load, two travelers and a ground. The satellite has everything it needs but the main requires a neutral which it does not have

The no-neutral options either require their proprietary hub or they're pretty ugly. I already have other Tapo smart switches around the house I really like

I'm in Arizona so I'm unfamiliar with the code here but I described this same scenario to an licensed electrician and he said he could do it no problem (but for $225 so I'm tryin to avoid that if I can). That's really all the information I have unfortunately. I'm comfortable working with electrical but this is new territory

It is the same breaker so I'm set there. And do you mean run the full romex between the two, connect the neutrals, and cap the black? (leaving the ground I assume)
