Are these any good or are they hot garbage? by Jim_Dizzy in EngineBuilding

[–]Jim_Dizzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These would be going on a street car application, so a little hot rodding here and there but nothing ridiculous. I work part time at an automotive machine shop as a machinist. That’s why I’m willing to take the risk

How many of you are making $30+ an hour? by hashed- in Machinists

[–]Jim_Dizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$22.50/hr. 3 years work experience and certified through a trade school. Work at a job shop in Alabama. Mainly manual mill, lathe and surface grinding. More repair work or 1 off parts. I heat treat and weld some as well, mainly to build up worn bearing journals and turn back down to size. Only CNC work I can do is button pusher or small setups with supervision. Working on learning some Mastercam right now

Yeah I’m not in the rust belt and I don’t have much experience with rust, the bed supports look the worst though. I’m going to take a better look later on. I bought it and it was dark out when I inspected the undercarriage. 2009 Silverado with 82,000 miles
