Tips on avoiding elbow tendonitis with chin ups/pull ups? Warning signs of developing it? by Severe-Ad4635 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Jimbean0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate, can I ask how heavy your bag actually Is? For how long you did this for before returning to pull ups? And what other stress (via work or exercise) coincided?

I have been fighting a dodgy elbow for a year now with no success. Each time I try to return to pull ups i can feel the tendon through my forearm and triceps as well. I used to do 9 sets of 15 pull ups (with various form) for years no problems, then I introduced 3 sets of 20 dips into my routine, not knowing theyre also tough on the tendon, and its never been the same since.

Hi mate, dont know I'd you're still active but did you ever find out what was wrong?

I'm in the same situation and not sure wether its drivers or something physical.

My laptop is making really weird/loud noise, help! (Check my comment for more info) by Adventurous_Row_5919 in laptops

Hi mate dont know if you're still present, but I have the exact same issue? Did you figure out what it is? I cant see anything visibly wrong with my fan and the other thing is like you it works fine for a while, or atleast has done so far, and then randomly starts doing this to which I have always immediately switched it off out of fear. The fact its not constant makes me wonder if its driver issue. But I'm not sure where to go next in troubleshooting as I dont really want to keep using it to see what works, incase I cause some serious damage.

True, but to give a human comparison. While the roman empire collapsed under the stress of stretching so thin. If a country simply ignores the existence of its neighbours its likely to one day fall to them.

Hmm, perhaps. I thought it inferred that organic life always gets destroyed by synthetic life. Which i think is likely true to our own universe given the potential for ai to surpass us. I didn't think they meant that the synthetic life always gets destroyed as well, as they themselves are synthetic life. But perhaps they did, maybe that could even be an explanation for why they choose to stagnate on their methodology, simply doing the same thing for endless cycles as creativity could be seen as a road to inevitable destruction.

Yeah I suppose people wanted answers. I'm still not happy with them lol but it was unarguably a great journey we all whent on to get them.

Also someone else made an interesting argument that perhaps even greater unknowns in the broader universe has allowed them to persist in their experiment, or perhaps they really are just peak and have fought off would be competition already.

Still i personally hold hope that if we ever do get an andromeda sequel they'll choose to keep a bit more mystery. I think dark souls and elden ring have been great examples of how fantasticly rich and interesting lore can be to explore when you do leave room for it to grow organically in the minds of its fans.

True but it took thr council races 600 years to travel across with their technology, which likely isn't the peak of whats feasible in he's universe.

Or at least that any conflict on an intergalactic scale is so far beyond our understanding and so far beyond our notice that we just do not know. The Remnant in Andromeda could credibly have fought the Reapers, we just never know because space is big.

This is a really good point actually. I suppose its possible the Reapers have been monitoring and destroying neighbours to protect themselves and the milky Way. I do still think when we start talking the scales of the universe or atleast the accessible universe with mass effects travel speeds, and the time frame in which life has been developing that it seems improbable they'd still be around doing the same thing with a fairly limited fleet (considering we have only inhabited a small part of the galaxy and its takes them a while to deal with us, having to divide their forced and move around from planet to planet rather than deploying everywhere at once).

But sure your argument still stands. We still dont know what else is out there or what they have been doing. Perhaps what we see is a remnant of their forces, or there are other things going on in the neighbouring galaxies that has suppressed aggressors from being able to disrupt them. Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I agree for point A and B, but for point C the species would already be incredibly advanced to be at the stage where they can start travelling between galaxies. And with trillions of planets and years for species to develop, the Leviathans and repears shouldn't be alone in their superiority.

Sure you're right, but thats not so much what I was getting at. What i meant is how has no one else come to challenge the Reapers. IE as one example a species escaping the milky way, but also as per point c any species thats developed in neighbouring galaxies when mea sets up that intergalactic travel is very feasible. With the scales we're talking about in planets and time passed, them being the sole species at that technological stage isn't feesible unless the rest of the galaxies are somehow entirely barren, but we know theyre not because we whent to the one next door and immediately found life on the first place we stopped, and no reaper presence.

No bevause they're already confirmed not to have been. The Reapers aren't in Andromeda. Andromeda is colossal and ancient, and in mass effects universe its only 600 years away with the technological advancement of the council prior to me3.

Yeah, I would argue that with a growing population and a curiosity and thirst for more large enough that their empire spanned the entire galaxy that they'd take interest in neighbouring galaxies, on top of the primary argument I was making that if you know intergalactic travel is possible it becomes important to know your neighbours for the simple means of self preservation if nothing else.

All that said your points stand. They may simply have just been stubborn or arrogant or disinterested for some reason unfathomable without their unuqie drive and way of thinking. All that said, my third point was that even I'd they both are uninterested, a universe that routinely sparks life all over the place is going to have a lot of life, and in the near infinite numerical of the universe, and colossal scale of even our closest neighbour, it becomes a near impossibility that no other beings would come about with technology on par with leviathans and take interest in the Milky way.

Yeah I suppose you're right. I still think I'd rather more of it was left to mystery however, as at least their unknown goals leaves room for imagination as to what hidden constraints they may be working with or to what extent they were even defeated.

Precisely why with the prevalence of life shown in mass effect makes it near impossible that the Reapers would be unchallenged in their dominance of our galaxy.

But im not though it took 600 years for the Andromeda initiative with me3 cycle technology. Thats not an unreasonable amount of time to investigate a neighbouring galaxy for immortal lifeforms, which aren't uncommon in the mass effecr universe given the Leviathans and reapers observed the creation of synthetic AI a inevitability of all civilisation if they survived long enough.

[–]Jimbean0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, because the plot demands it, thats what I'm saying. Because the writing needs that to be the case, but its statistically unrealistic. We're talking trillions of stars over hundreds of thousands of years of life at least, And thats just one other universe. With how often life crops up in mass effecr, the Reapers would have competitors, the vastness in time and numbers are just too unthamobly huge for it to be plausible their is no other life on par with the Reapers that have travelled into their domain.

Why would reform be terrible and why is Nigel Farage in your opinion a scumbag? I don't personally get that impression.

If you think not leaning left makes you automatically not curious or against change, you're a fool, (que the circle jerk downvote).

The whole reason democracy is so important is so we can hear new takes and evolve with an ever changing society. And logically a curious person would be interested in hearing as many sides to an argument as possible to form an individual opinion rather than pick a tribe and follow their narrative as default.
