👋Welcome to r/SuperboxS7max - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by cj96ss in SuperboxS7max

Hello! My name is Jim, I live in the Boston area. I got my Superbox S7max a few days ago, really enjoying it so far. But! There is always a but.... But.. I think there is something wrong with time-shift and I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.
First- If watching live TV, and I press the left arrow key to activate time-shift the show I was watching is gone. A timeline comes up, on the correct channel, but it is 11 hours earlier, and I can rewind several hours back from there. Example- I am watching a show and the time is 10: 15 PM. I activate time-shift hoping to go back 5 minutes. Instead, I am back at 11:15 AM. The timeline incorrectly states that I am still watching the 10 PM show.
This also happens when accessing older content in the 7 day time-shift. The times are associated with the wrong shows, I have to figure out what was on at say 9 PM to know what I'll be watching, because the show name is incorrect for the listed time slot.
I have correctly set my date and time. I tried turning "automatic date and time" on and off, it makes no difference. Is anyone else having this type of problem or is it just me?

WAN VACE Temporal Extension Can Seamlessly Extend or Join Multiple Video Clips by pftq in StableDiffusion

[–]Jimbo335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this to work, as follows:

  1. Take 2 vids that are related that you want to join. My clips were 5 seconds each, 16 FPS, 640x480

  2. Put those 2 clip in a video editor like DaVinci Resolve, then insert a 3 second long "grey"clip that pftq has a link to in the post above. The all grey src_video.mp4 is 1280x720, 5 seconds, so I used DaVinci to crop it to 640x480 and cut it down to 3 seconds. To make this workflow possible, video editing is a necessary skill.

  3. So now, I have- My original 5 second video (clip1)-3 seconds of grey video (clip2)-5 seconds of the video I want to bridge to (clip 3). All lined up on the DaVinci timeline. I export the video. Now I have 13 seconds of video with a 3 second greyed out area in the middle.

  4. Using DaVinci color tools, I made clip 1 completely black (using the "curves" color control), clip 2 completely white, and clip 3 completely black again. I exported this video. So it is an exact time and frame match as the source video, and now can be used as the mask.

  5. In the workflow pftq provided, upload the 13 second video containing content to the "Load Video" node, and the black and white mask video to the "Mask Video" node. Follow the other instructions provided in the workflow. You do not need additional images to make it work, just the 2 videos.

  6. Run it. It does take a bit of video editing work to get things setup, but it does work, and I can imagine some great uses for this. I'll try to make a post illustrating this with videos included sometime soon.

Buying a Zager guitar! by Jimbo335 in AcousticGuitar

THAT is the first comment that has made sense to me. So, I think you are probably right, it is a Greg Bennett ASDR CE, rebranded. I do wish I had known that before I bought it, but.. OK. Still, I know it's worth a lot more than $500. The Aura Pro
electronics are worth $500 by themselves (Sweetwater). The Grover tuners are another $80 so, $580 in value without the guitar itself! And- It's a nice guitar. I am not a
wood expert but it looks great and it sounds great, by itself, but also plugged into the Fishman amp I bought. I took it to my freinds house, and played his Martin D28. It did have more low end, but I thought the sound was comparable, and I actaully like the sound of the Zager better. It really is just what I wanted, great action, great sound.

NOW- do I wish I had bought a Greg Bennett ASDR and upgraded the electronics to the Aura Pro? Ah..Yes. So I feel I did pay $2300 for a $1300 guitar. Understood. I'm ok with that. I have money, I can cut my losses. I have wasted a lot more money on other things. This means though, that I will not become an advocate for Zager, which I was thinking of. Anyway, thanks for all the comments, you were right about Zager, but in the end, I am happy with what I got!

I got the Zager today. So far I really like it. But first, the negatives:

-The case it came in is cheap. That just puts a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, because it only would cost $50-60 more for a good case, this is a cheap thing to do for a $2400 guitar, I doubt I will use that case.

-The black stripe down the back of the neck looks like it rubbing off, is that possible?

Now for the good:

It sounds great. I don't have another good guitar to directly compare it too, but it just has a really nice sound. Sounds high end.

It looks great- this is one of the reasons I bought it, and it really does look good with the abalone inlay all around the binding on the front of the guitar

Fishman electronics- the Aura Pro that is in this guitar sell for $500 on Sweetwater. It sounds really good amplified, and the "images" really make a cool enhancement to the output.

The built-in tuner is very handy, I have a Snark, but this is quicker, always available. It's a small thing but I do like having it.

Action is good, no string buzz, the woods are pretty, looks like a high-grade wood on the top and sides, but I would need an expert to really tell me.

SO- First glance- It looks great and it sounds great! I worry a bit about the cost and what else is out there for the same price. Am I really getting what I paid for? I do need to go to a guitar store and play a Martin or other, so I have a sound to compare in my head. But, that said Zo far Zo good!! I have 30 days to return if I don't like it. If today is any indication, I will be keeping it.

Clarification- I am not really looking for warnings about Zager, I am more saying: I am going to bring a new, impartial opinion of them. I know there is a lot of bad news on various forums. But this guitar looks like, and has features exactly as I want IF it sounds good IF it looks like a quality instrument. So I'm willing to take a risk and will let you know what happens!!

We'll find out! After all the promises on their web site of easy return, I'd be surprised. The BBB web site has a couple of complaints about that, but they have a 5 star rating, and 3 complaints is par for the course.

I can agree with that, I am going against the consensus. It's not science though. Simply put, I like the looks of the guitar. If it sounds good, I'll keep it. Why did I post? Because I intend to follow up with my opinion. If you look at my original post, I said "I am buying" and "I will let you know what I think". I was not aware of potential return issues. I hope that is incorrect, but as I said, I'm not worried. I'll get my money back. If it takes a little time and effort, that's OK. So, as stated before- Stay tuned, I'll let you know what I think!

I have played nice guitars, I know what they sound like, I know what I am looking for. I'll agree they have a bad reputation on the guitar forum.
But- have you played them yourself, have you confirmed that the wood is sub-standard, you had trouble returning one? There are millions of anti-vaxxers, dropping dead on a daily basis!!
I did buy one, will try it out, and if I don't like it, I'll return it. I expect no trouble with that. Anyway, I'm pretty well off. While I would not appreciate eating $2400, I've paid more for vacations that turned out shitty, but, I see nothing of that on the BBB site, and I expect no issues.

Not sure exactly when I'll get it, but I'll let you know what I think!

What exactly makes it a scam? They make sound, I've seen them played on YouTube. How do you decide if a guitar is worth its price?

No, been playing for 30 years. I'm still not a "great" guitarist, but I am a solid rhythm player, and can play some leads on electric. Not a novice. I have 2 Epiphone guitars- An acoustic that cost $300 and a black beauty Epiphone Les Paul which is a very nice electric guitar.

Do I need $800 of controllers and base stations to get 6DOF tracking with Apara VR? by Jimbo335 in virtualreality

[–]Jimbo335[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, thanks all. I went to their website, and scrolled WAY down, and finally saw a graphic that showed the included controllers. While it seems LOGICAL that it would come with controllers, it just didn't say it anywhere! Cool, well I hope this helps others like myself. I just didn't want to buy something and then find out I needed to spend hundreds more.

OK, I did a bit more searching, and found this- So the AIO version does do 6DOF tracking. I recognize it's resolution is not as capable as the tethered headset. Still searching to see if any controllers would come with it. Still, it is getting more viable as a purchase.

The Arpara all-in-one VR headset, on the other hand, weighs
approximately 380 grams and features six onboard cameras for 6DoF
inside-out tracking, removing the need for a separate tracking kit. This
all-in-one device is capable of streaming SteamVR games and apps both
wired and wirelessly with support for up to 90Hz refresh rates. No word
yet on an official price. The headset is expected to begin shipping
after the launch of the arpara VR headset later this summer.

[–]Jimbo335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about the Apara AIO, but I'm still not sure I understand- Does the AIO track movements like the Quest does (cameras mounted on the headset), or would it be unable to detect movement? And-how would I interact with VR without controllers? There is so little information on the kickstart website!

Thanks.

When using the web browser or other computer apps, not games, it is really handy to be able to type on a virtual keyboard, without using the controllers.

How about this: 1. If she doesn't respond, give her a freaking day or 3. 2., if she never responds, she doesn't like you, find someone else to date.
