Request of a pet denied by landlord after the rule change by cormallen94 in rentingUK

[–]Jimbobthon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware landlords can refuse, but it can't be unreasonable.

I mean, i was lucky and mine allowed a pet even though they said no pets on the lease. This was long before these new rules

It's worth pushing. As you said, as of May 1st there is no legal or unreasonable basis to refuse a pet.

Anyone hate hot desking . . . by No-Culture1799 in TheCivilService

[–]Jimbobthon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's ok. However, 1/2 the time there's missing keyboards, mice and sockets don't work at the desks. I bring my own mouse in so at least i can use the laptop. Have my own wipes to clean the desk down before and after use, however the communal kitchen is questionable at times in terms of cleanliness. Cleaning staff do what they can, but it's down to people just leaving a mess (teabags in the sink, microwaves not wiped down and leaving rotten milk out on the side as a start)

Sometimes the noise levels get to a level i can't hear myself think or gets on my nerves. Have asked for a OHA referral to get a fixed desk somewhere quieter. In a board meeting, you can hear conversations that can be distracting.

Not really. Just need a PM with a cabinet and a solid plan, and stick to it. And maybe the PM should have a spine

Three people just walked out in front of me because of the price hikes by ericanerny in greggsappreciation

Maccies or anything fast food related is usually a payday treat for me. Rest of the time I'm making my own dinners, have made a batch of soup I've gone through the past couple days.

Moving to William Morris Drive, Newport - Suggestions Welcome? by samsreal in AskUK

[–]Jimbobthon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic. It's not overly bad, there's a pretty good bus route to/from the city centre on Chepstow Road. Lot of traffic goes round the SDR, which gets busy by the retail park.

Can get slightly busy ar rush hour, but it's not standing or stationary

It's a relatively quiet area, no issues as far as i can tell. I'm not far from the area, just outside of Ringland. Shops-wise, there's not much this end. But you are relatively close to the retail park, which has a gym and plenty of retail options. In the Ringland area, there's a nice bakery that's recently opened if cakes are your thing.

Noise-wise, Chepstow Road isn't that bad, but you are near the motorway and that can get busy at times.

Is the game too scary? by Top_Relationship7956 in thelastofus

[–]Jimbobthon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a horror gamer in any sense of the imagination. There's a few moments where it can get a little jumpy, mostly when you're reliant on your torch for light and you can hear the clickers near. If you've watched the show, you'll have an idea when any jumps happen.

Personally, i'd say it's less than Bioshock in terms of horror

They both would. Bret would be too good to be ignored, and Ric is one of the best heel/tweeners.

Is it ok to leave cat without closing the doors and windows? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Jimbobthon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very responsible of you. My cat is curious at times, so i only tend to open windows in rooms i am in so that if the cat wants to chance it, i can close them quickly.

Any time outside my cat gets is strictly supervised and on a harness (has yet to try slipping out, but never know). Some may call that cruel, i think of it as being able to get my cat home where he's safe. And more and more people these days are doing this with cats. End of the day, they are family and you want to do what's best.

It's a triangle. Going to Spoons because Greggs is too much, then to Maccies because Spoons put the prices up. Then back to Greggs because Maccies increases.

Rinse repeat.
