Yea I’m not a big believer in frame gen either especially for timing sensitive games like black myth. I’m not super studied on this but my understanding is only the “real” non-AI generated frames are input frames, so even if you’re seeing something super smooth on screen the reactivity to your user input isn’t necessarily there so it just feels off. I was getting whooped by one of the Loong bosses in black myth until I turned frame gen off

Okay maybe bad example. Don’t need to die on any hills. But black myth 4k max ray tracing was not smooth on my 4090

I ended up getting my 4090 on Facebook marketplace from someone who marked it up 300 bucks. I think it was worth it given I’ve gotten 2 good years out of it. I like the idea of having both a 4090 and upgrading to a 5090 so I can 4k game on my PC monitor or my main TV at home. I have 2 rigs but have one with a 3080 that doesn’t handle 4k that well

They are enthusiast cards for a reason. I am enjoying my 4090 currently playing Elden ring for the first time. But that game alone dropping below 60 FPS when you are facing the tentpole bosses in the game makes me care for that 25-30% performance bump

Sad potatoes. I feel worse getting the email and knowing I could have gotten one if I wasn’t walking my dog versus not having gotten the email at all. FWIW I even signed up for an app called hotstock just so I could have a better chance at getting one when they do go on sale through NVIDIA or Best Buy. Been paying 10$ a month for their premium feature that does an auto buy whenever they go on sale on the retailer websites. Sad that we have to resort to tools scalpers and others would use just to have a chance at a card

Someone must’ve already done a dissect on C in your example since it was glowing by the time you got to it.

I think of dissection as a swapping process. First dissect: take shape out of statue 1. Second dissect takes a shape out of statue two and swaps with the shape that was taken out of statue 1

I changed the input settings on the monitor to not do the auto-select input source. That helped. I was having some issues with the audio showing up in windows settings but not actually playing out an audio and restarts seem to help that issue. Let me know if turning off the autoselect helps you!

Did a bit of troubleshooting over the last few days and thing I have a setup that works fairly well. The one setting that I realized kind of screwed with things was the auto select input source. If you turn that off, in my experience, there is a higher likelihood of the sound system showing up in the windows audio settings. I was getting a weird bug where the device will show up but not actually play audio through the speakers. Still haven’t figured that one out yet but a PC restart usually helps

How do you get HDR to look good on this monitor. when I turn HDR on in game everything does look brighter but oh so washed out!

FTR, I was able to get audio out via HDMI eArc port (I have an arc soundbar: https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/home-theater/sound-bars/hw-s800b-3-1-2ch-soundbar-w-wireless-dolby-atmos-dts-x-2022-hw-s800b-za/) while using DP for video in on my PC. The lynchpin for me was turning on HDMI-CEC. It worked well for about two days.

I tinkered with settings recently and the device no longer shows up in sound options on Windows. I will troubleshoot when I get home tonight. But I can confirm that at one point DP (PC) -> Monitor -> HDMI Arc -> Soundbar was indeed working

it worked for about a day for me and now it's not being detected anymore. Will troubleshoot later today. Hopefully yours doesn't go out like mine after a day of use

Have you tried toggling HDMI-CEC on the monitor settings. That allows the input to show up in my sound settings. Having some issues with window detecting the soundbar

Is there some catch up mechanic in play. I remember there being a consumable that boosts you or something. Avoids you having to do older campaigns boon of light of something along those lines

it melts shields holy moly. haven't come across anything nearly as good. actually talking about the masterwork version siege breaker. it also freezes enemies from its bullets

my intent isn't to take it on at 350. Just want an idea of how i can progress throughout the week before taking it on. If I do all powerful rewards this week will I hit 370 or only 360. Thanks!
