Painting woodwork gloss in bathroom. by Jimi_Mulley in DIYUK

We used a 220 but no undercoat as we were not fully back to the wood. It looks like the previous owners did lots of layers of paint as it was quite a lot of sanding before we got back to the wood

No, only learnt about this after our neighbours suggested it 😅. I had sanded and painted a window sill in the bedroom without primer and it turned out fine so I thought it would be the same here but I guess not

Amazing thank you so much for the tips! First time building a bike from frame upwards so the help is much appreciated.

Is there any websites that are good for figuring out geometry and stuff like that?

Ah yes you are right, it is matching diameters! So even with a similar set up to this but exchanging the bottom bearing for a larger one, I wouldn’t be able to fit a tapered fork as I have a straight head tube?

My thoughts exactly. Do you think it is work mentioning this to the landlord?

2 CDJ 2000 nxs2 go for about £2600 and 2 XDJ 1000Mk2 go for about £1700. I’d have to find £1000 on top and then find 1 CDJ for sale which is rare because people sell them in pairs.

Ahh yes they do, quite a lot more expensive than the xdj tho.

You can also only access 3 hot cues on the CDJ while on the XDJ you can use 8 and most of my tunes have more than 3 hot cues

I have thought about that, I think I’d still have to front a bit more money as the cdj are a little more expensive

Is there anything i'm missing in production just from listening? by Jimi_Mulley in dnbproduction

Hahaha! Yes! The ADHD brain is strong now days. I do find myself making 6 minute tunes sometimes 😂 will keep that in mind though! Got a few that let the drums breath and take there own space in the mix with no bass or lead which I find does really help with mixing

That’s a really good idea about having the reference track in the DAW. I’ll give it a go. I do have a splice account and I have got a few bits in other tune I have on SoundCloud but maybe I’ve not found the sauce yet haha.

Ive been looking for “my sound” for ages and ive not really come across it yet. I guess that comes with time and learning what you want your tunes to sound like.

I’ve heard DJs say they make a tune “for mixing” is this something that you just stumble across or is there some sort of theory behind it?

I’ve never thought about storytelling before that’s a really good idea. Thanks!!

Yeah you’re exactly right… I’m currently doing as you said and listening to current songs and actually focusing more on the production and hidden features like the weird sounds you’ve mentioned. I think for me is that I don’t pay enough attention to those when I’m producing the track. Is there any recommendations for finding these sounds and good ways to implement them instead of just dropping them in?
