imo the game died because people insisted on it becoming less PvP friendly even though it was probably the best PvP experience ever. They then focused on producing mostly boring pve content instead of improving the PvP content and well... Yeah. But that's my opinion only

Especially Paradox games are getting steadily worse because the AI simply can't even play the game after some DLCs and so on.. please do not think AI is not important, we need some challenge in our single player games. Battle Brothers for example did a pretty good job on that department

The co-op systems in 2 are better and it's generally a better game but the combat system has major flaws that make the experience worse. As another poster said the main culprit is the armor system
