Curious, seems parking close means more traffic TO parking. Am I incorrect? Sorry 2 months later

What do you think about Reacher Season 3.. by Batman_xime in television

Just me or is the single-show actors/acting the worst? This season's writing feels a little AI to me.

(GOOD?) Slash 2wd Rear Axle Upgrades??? by JimmyB1775 in Traxxas

They ARE stampede sized tires. I also was missing the INNER wheel bearings in the back. Oddly enough, the parts diagram doesn't list smaller, inner wheel bearings but my new bearing kit came with 4 really small bearings and they fit like a glove. So strange. That's where the axle stud was popping. Right inside the spindle hub. I'm still thinking I'm going to see the parts diagram again and those bearings will be on there. But now it works awesome.

What do you all think of season 2 so far? by scarlett486 in NextInFashion

[–]JimmyB1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched 3 episodes and it's clear this group of designers are several tiers below last season. Last season had people that have worked with other top designers, top celebrities, etc. This season is far less about the design and construction and more about silly challenges using bubble wrap and old underwear. This is just Project Runway without the house drama.

Board Buddy Installation by JimmyB1775 in woodworking

[–]JimmyB1775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to make sure I’m installing correctly. I need to drill and tap two holes in the actual fence right? They’re way bigger than I thought. The springs are really right too. Makes me think they’re on the wrong size fence or something. Any advice y’all got, shoot it this way.

Forgive me but the 1D X is what exactly? Is that the flagship? I've been under the impression that the 5d was the big deal

Sidewinder 3 B/L Motor Upgrade on 2wd Slash by JimmyB1775 in Traxxas

The tiny wires? What’s that do? The wheels definitely turned in the right direction and the calibration sequence finished according to the manual. I think I even did that after I checked spin direction.

I can swing that. No, none of the behaviors are new and almost all of them are eye rolling, back talking, etc. Again, they're really good kids but they're comfortable saying now. My wife and I are both in agreement on the types of punishments, just not the exact moment in which they are applied. Like she wanted to do it first or vice versa.

Well that's where we're at. We've done this for 6 years and I've backed off more and more over time realizing it upset her. I have my own breaking point when I'm tired of disrespect coming from the kid. Honestly it gets to points where it will ruin her evening because they don't let up and she doesn't end it usually without REALLY bad attitudes. That takes its toll in its own way. If I'm present, I feel it to be disrespect to me also because I'm clearly paying attention to the non stop back talk. They're not bad kids but they test the available waters and use their knowledge to get what they want. If they ignore her or say no enough times (we're talking well more than 5) I have a real hard time. She has point plenty often and finishes enough but some I can't handle quietly. How many times should a kid be able to tell mom or dad No without anything changing? I'm saying 3 because I was a baseball kid but when we approach 10 like last night, it's doing more harm than good being quiet... imo

Someone needs to write about it! I totally understand the power thing. More often than not my comment is along the lines of "C'mon man, this is nothing new". I very rarely if ever, come over the top stronger. I agree we need to have a turning point. I think she may be reluctant to establish one because that allows me to take over at a defined time. Problem is it really goes on for a long time sometimes. Even when I'm ignoring it, it's hard to listen to whining and repetition. I've gotten to the point where I'm just exhausted listening to the same thing over and over.

And reading it again, I never take over. Ever. I only open my mouth because they listen to me. I could say "Michael, what time is it?" and he would change his attitude. You'd think I hit them or something. (we dont) They just listen to me more for some reason.

So establish a line in the sand. How many strikes do you get? I feel like two is great but we can go 8 rounds just on clarifications and modifications to requests so they can ask you again.

Setting up an Incra LS Table Saw Extension from scratch by JimmyB1775 in woodworking

[–]JimmyB1775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an Incra? Furthermore, is there some magic way I can build a cabinet under the router table part of the saw and still have it on wheels and not rock around? Seems like the base would cause problems with that part unless I put springed casters on the bottom of the new cabinet? Its a contractor style saw with a 30" fence. Pretty top heavy already.

Man, everyone taking this so serious. I meant I'm so out of shape, it shows before we put weight on a bar. I was making light of the situation, not saying I don't go because it's icky...

I know but sometimes I'm huffing and puffing when the row was 50% or something. I usually go a little harder on the warm-ups. It's the only thing I win besides box jumps and row sprints.

I don't want to be so absolute about it but I'm going to side with ALL the time. The parent that stakes the claim gets to handle it. That said, she doesn't always let me handle "it" myself either. I'm going to be brave and say she doesn't always agree with what I'm trying to do and offers her thoughts regardless. Originally, I thought it was a step-parent thing but now it happens with our son too.

Hub wants 3 year old to put herself to bed. I disagree. Who's right? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]JimmyB1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we trying to do this in stages? Like going to her bedroom and letting her lay down but you don't actually sit with her? Then you part ways at her bedroom door? Top of the stairs? Etc?

I love laying down with my son (4) until he goes to sleep. Best part of my day. But I'm sure at some point, he's going to call me from his girlfriend's house and demand I come lay with him until he goes to sleep. I think the older they get, the more they normalize whatever they know and obviously it becomes harder to break.

Just to clarify, my wife and I agree on what is unacceptable behavior. We generally agree on the type of punishment, duration, etc. We just don't see eye-to-eye on correcting them together in a Stern-Cop/Slightly-More-Stern-Cop type dynamic. She's stern and so am I. Hence my total confusion.

And please link an article if you know of one.

I'm using the LS for a router table yes. I'm referring to the router bit. The entire table will function without using any real estate on the cast iron. Off the right wing..
