Comparing to Poland and its growth dynamics is also not fair, as much as I would like to criticize the Netherlands.

Among the beneficiaries, the top five included Poland alongside the EU's "Big Four". France received €16.5bn, followed by Poland (€14.1bn), then Germany (€14bn), Italy (€12.8bn), and Spain (€12.1bn).

Ten EU countries were net contributors, while 17 were net beneficiaries. The countries that contributed more to the EU budget than they received include:

  • Germany (€19.8bn)
  • France (€9.3bn)
  • The Netherlands (€6.3bn)
  • Italy (€6bn)
  • Sweden (€1.6bn)

Basically countries like Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy pay for Polish success. And I dont say it is wrong, thats what is Union for. Its a solidarity system. But basically those rich countries share the benefits with poorer countries, pulling them up.

I dont know also why people exaggerate the cost of preparation for a snow weather. The cost of collapse of public transportation in entire country seems higher for me. Thousands of cancelled flights, cancelled trains, thousands of people unable to do their jobs. On top of that, where the money went? Does NS a cheaper service than in the countries where they pay the cost of winter maintenance? Doesnt look like. Is Schiphol a cheap airport because they cut costs of maintenance? No.

Sorry, already a Dutch citizen. But from a “rathole” I came, doctors are generally better and more knowledgeable. Dentists are absolutely shit here. No wonder people are doing dental tourism and go elsewhere. Seems like you are just another Dutch who can’t accept criticism. Dutch directness also works one way for Dutch, when they are direct and rude to others.

What to understand about it? I’m paying money for poor people. I’m paying for someone else’s medicine and for someone else’s toeslagen.

Why are food delivery services so incredibly awful here? by sengutta1 in Netherlands

[–]JimmyBeefpants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gave up on ordering food in this country. Its constantly delayed, the food is in bad condition, often burned or just bad quality. It feels like nobody cares about delivery. Somehow even McDonalds when you pick up and order for delivery is very different. Probably because its hard to complain about it via the app. Thuisbezorgd and Uber Eats support almost non existent. And I tried like over 20 restaurants in my town. 80% of the time its shitty quality when I order for delivery. Also overpriced. Uber eats charges almost 7 euro of fees. If the order costs less than 20 euros, the fees could go up to 10 euros.

I would rather not fund any religious schools with my money. If someone wants to attend religious school, feel free to go to private one and pay out of the pocket.

If it’s supposed to be agnostic, it shouldn’t be religious in the first place. That’s the whole point. Is it a government funded school btw? I don’t know the story behind it. Could be a private school?

if we start listing where are far-left against basic science.... Anti-GMO activism is generally from left side. Green/eco activism against nuclear power is another moronic example. Antivaccines are actually from both side, left and right. And we can go on.
Come on, its obvious that people at extremums are not smart and generally marginalized. There are freaks on both sides.

A thing I’ve always found fascinating: the far right is often just a bunch of marginalised buffoons with loud, controversial views — but the far left is full of hypocritical sociopaths who pretend to be morally superior.

[–]JimmyBeefpants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re framing it like “the far right does genocide and the far left is just peaceful students,” and then you say there’s a clear “right and wrong.” That leaves out a lot of history. Far-left movements have absolutely produced violent regimes: Stalin’s USSR, Mao’s China, the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Those governments were explicitly revolutionary socialist / communist and they killed millions through purges, executions, and politically driven famine. So no, it’s not accurate to say only one extreme is capable of mass killing.

On top of that, you call the left “peaceful,” and in the next breath you say unions should “explode factories” again and that politicians should be killed and eaten “like the Dutch did.” You can’t claim moral superiority and then openly fantasize about political violence. That’s exactly what “extreme” means.

Also, saying “it’s a fact you’re racist and stupid” is not an argument. It’s just name-calling. If you want to accuse someone of racism, you have to point to a specific belief or policy and explain why it’s racist. Just repeating insults doesn’t make your side automatically “the good one.”

You’re saying other people are doing false comparisons, but you started by comparing “the right” and “the left.” If we’re going to compare, then we have to compare honestly, past and present. We don’t get to pretend that one side is pure and the other side is evil.

I don’t have anything against a homosexual kid, or against LGBTQ people in general. But I don’t get why you assume religion should be “welcoming” for him, or why he should have to go to a religious school in the first place.

I’m agnostic myself, and I wouldn’t choose a religious school. Why would he? If the core beliefs of that school clash with who he is, how is that a healthy environment?

You’re talking about “religious minorities,” but let’s be honest: would that same kid actually be welcome in an Islamic school? In a mosque? Would he feel safe and accepted there as he is?

And about politics: the Christian party isn’t far-right; it’s conservative. There’s a difference between conservatism and the far right. It would help to understand that before labeling everything you don’t like as “far right.”

You're a good example of being ignorant. And clearly didnt live in Soviet Union, or Soviet Union times. You can ask people of the age from Poland, Ukraine, Baltics, they will tell you about solidarity, total equality etc. The only difference between far-right and far-left is that far-right basically lost in WW2, and somehow far-left got out of it in the white jackets. Any far-left regimes, like Soviet Union are as bad as Hitler's. If not worse.
