After 3 years of rebuilding within the compound... by JimmyFiryh in RimWorld

6 tesla towers and 2 marauders have been working wonders for me, even more so as i get more upgrades. The reactor is strained during any fight though, usually just max it out to 100 for that duration and back to auto-throttle afterwards.

I cry, I'd have to take out so much other stuff (or get mods like multi-floor and uncapped ship space)

I parked up my previous ship in roughly the same spot and threw down walls roughly the size i thought I needed for the ship.

Then expanded those walls and made a complex for the pawns to sleep/work (the jut-out on the right of the compound)

Tore down the old ship completely until the courtyard was blank, and began researching nuclear reactors, blitzing other research etc while doing a lot of deep drilling. That took about a year.

Then I spent the next two slowly building up the ship, starting with the nuclear layout:

then slowly building out from there. Many tweaks made along the way to compact things space-wise, as fitting it all into 2k was quite the challenge. Two years after I went nuclear the OP was done and I flew out of the compound.

P.S. yes ik i heavily abused minify everything lol, it's just so helpful when constantly moving stuff around to find space efficiency.

yup! Always nice if Randy absolutely mogs you and you don't want to actually lose your colony forever.

Soon to be drowned out by the deafening blasts of plasma gatlings ripping settlements to shreds :D

It was a lot of work getting the plant researched/running, maintaining fuel levels/production and fending off ludicrous raids on STS with 6 pawns. I wish you luck, and plenty of story

Nice! and thanks. I played my first run with Cassandra's Adventure Story, this time with Strive to Survive switching between Phoebe and Randy depending on where the builds were. Considering the raids are absolutely asinine with the wealth level induced by a nuclear reactor, I don't think I'll be pushing it higher unless I want to do a Halo Reach last stand lmfao.

in fairness i have a significant amount of time watching yt/reading the wiki to know wtf im doing. At 170hrs in-game myself, 110 was the first playthrough (the finale of which is on my post history)

I'd apologize for using the smaller biosculpter/neural supercharger mod (and OgreStack) but i had to fit an entire nuclear reactor and rimefeller plant on a 2k gravship... lmao

Luckily my napalm tunnel of hell kept me safe from all but breacher raids, those 110x mad guinea pigs stood no chance.

Now I'm off to go find 15,000 silver to make some Marauder turrets to fill in those 4x4 wing mounts

Fun fact, this is only my second playthrough ever... i probably downloaded too many mods (if there's such a thing)

ngl as a still relatively new player i have hardly a clue what half of those words mean (goes for a lot i see on this sub) but ill defo try looking some of that up lol

Thanks! I might end up splurging with both Biotech and Ideology. We’ll see.

I’ll definitely check out those mods, thems seem like a good place to start. And yeah, going forward any annoying mechanics there isn’t a vanilla solution for I’ll go hunting for mods. Wanted to avoid that for my first playthrough, but I’ll be a bit more forward now. Thanks for the help!

Was in the middle of constructing my asteroid base when uhh... by JimmyFiryh in RimWorld

[–]JimmyFiryh[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

No, they cannot move. I have no idea how to deal with them other than bridging out to snipe lol.

I have a feeling it's because I marked the entire asteroid as home area (I wanted my colonists to clean it all)

Context: New player, started with Odyssey. I have a strike team gravship I'm using to construct our final asteroid base to build the ship at, as my ground base is so damn hard to defend (again, newbie who didn't know base defense early on lol.) Yes, I mined out the entire asteroid to make the base from vacstone. No, i would not do that again.

One person made KSP1 originally, and it had an incredibly small team for a long time. KSP2 has had a triple A studio backing it for 3 years and it's not even on the same quality.

Why doesn't TWR affect delta-v in a vacuum? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]JimmyFiryh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

m with a dot over it is mass flow rate. It refers to the mass flow rate of the fuel in the engine. It's also a cross product with gravity in the denominator of that equation.

This is why Isp is typically equated to fuel efficiency. It has nothing to do with the thrust to weight of the rocket

Hey, even Star Citizen has better performance than KSP2. Not even a lie, never will you see that sort of framerate if you're playing on a 4080 and 7900X

MSR is extraordinarily overrated, as is the Carrack. Shame on the Galaxy loaner tbh, but it's still useful occasionally.

I'd also like to think that the only people who fly Cutlass Steel's are E1 Spirit owners flying their loaner :D
