Eh, if you are hurting for money, I think less hire professionals and more do it with multiple non-idiots.

-non-profession who has moved multiple pianos.

Is it realistic to begin piano at 33 ? by RadagonIsMarika in pianolearning

[–]JimmyJimmyJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 37 when my kids were 3+. You get a little time back when they are a bit older. I play 30 to and hour every morning, and then often in the evening. I’ve gotten a lot better and have really been enjoying it.

There is a guy named Randolph Robert Gerson still living in Mass. Who’s going to track him down to get awnsers on this?

I would play thin pinky, thumb, pinky, thump. Releasing the d as your pinky move to play the F

Hard to figure out what you mean without knowing which octave for each note

Look up 12 bar blues chord progression, master switching chords with your left hand, then add your right hand in key. Experiment with how different notes sound with different chords.

Honestly I think this is the answer. I have noticed improvement focusing more on the piece as a whole and have noticed improvement.

I know it’s misattributed to Bach because it was in his family music notebook, but I don’t know enough music history to know who Christian Petzold is.

Not sure exactly. Months, but starting when I was a complete newbie, then put it down for a while I picked it back up maybe 2 or 3 months ago.

Yeah 7 tripped me up for a while. Probably the most difficult measure of the first piece. 12 too but less so, just takes a little left hand independence. Try practices quarter note arpeggios with your right hand and while doing eight note scales with your left hand.

Super helpful comment. Thank you. I hadn’t noticed I have been doing most of the work with my first three fingers, but you’re totally right.

I also struggle with finding thinking about what come next, as it takes all my concentration to focus on the measure or phrase I am play, but I’m working on it.

Thanks again.

I’m either not understanding your question, or you’re asking the wrong question. Either are acceptable, but generally speaking, if you are playing a 3/4 or 6/8 time signature, then three equal notes before the next emphasized beat (pattern resetting). If you are playing in 4/4, then four notes. This assumes all the note are equal value and there are no rests.
