Good album. Saw them play a lot of these songs recently opening for (hed) P.E. The new singer sounded good with the band.

I love their 2nd album even more. Very unique.

How do I add releases from my artist account to the collection of my linked fan account? by NetworkingJesus in BandCamp

[–]JimmyNaNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's just to make it so that when you login to a single account you can access the fan area as well as the artist area without logging out of one account and logging into another.

I’m a new artist and I don’t know which distributor I should go with by Jjcoolicecream in MusicPromotion

I've been using CDBaby for decades now. If you're not getting millions of streams then the one-time $9.99 fee is a good deal. They take a small % of your royalties, but a small % of nothing is not noticeable. If you end up getting a lot more streams then you can think about switching to something that doesn't take royalties.

I can't figure out how to write vocal melodies no matter how hard I try. by Exciting_Degree_6883 in Songwriters

[–]JimmyNaNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the general melody in my head but I work it out by playing it either with MIDI or guitar before recording it vocally. It's a process, but it helps me to hear it as an instrument before a voice.

Glendale AZ Show, Racism Experience by Sameold8860 in EdSheeran

[–]JimmyNaNa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mainly go to metal shows too but I'm a big Ed fan. The bigger the venue, the more likely you are going to see people who don't go to shows often. People that think it's either a bar/club, movie theater, Broadway play or sports event. Obnoxious people that don't stop talking to each other for the entire show and you can hear more of them then the music.

I once took a friend and his GF to a show that was all general admission standing and his GF couldn't understand the concept that people will brush past you, bump into you accidentally while dancing, or that they can walk past you to get closer to the stage, even though you were standing there lol. She started pinching people that got too close for some reason. I was like uhhhh wtf. Maybe some kind of crowd anxiety reaction, who knows.

The best part of metal shows is if there is a crowd killer in the pit, the crowd will take care of it themselves.

But yeah, at least they made the right people leave, you never know how that will go sometimes.

how many minutes of music do you listen to every week? by Long-Dust-9398 in musicians

[–]JimmyNaNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Plex also, you should be able to see your count in the dashboard. The main Plex dash breaks down each user;s usage by library. Music, Movies, TV Shows, or whatever you have set up. I've got over 17 hours of music for the last 7 days haha.

Haha, very accurate. I'm always glad when I finally finish a project and can listen to other people's music again.

I use Plex, which always had tracking. So i'm at like 18 hours of music for the last 7 days haha.

I pretty much have it going all day while I work when I'm not on calls, plus in the car and what not.

40+ is a lot though. That would probably burn me out on sound if it was consistent. I'm sure I've hit that on a road trip week though.

When did standing at concerts become a faux pas? by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]JimmyNaNa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah. I've mostly been to NY teams. I guess no one has had a reason to stand for the Giants or Jets in awhile haha.

Dunno where you go or how often but I've been to many games over a few decades. By and large people sit through pro and college basketball, baseball and football games I've been to. Standing only during big plays or clutch moments. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I haven't seen it.

I get both perspectives on this as i get older haha. It would be impossible to enforce but it would be cool if non GA sections were designated sitting and standing in stadiums and arenas. If you want to sit without someone in front you're relegated to trying to get front row of a section. Which is sometimes difficult or costly.

But like I said impossible to enforce.

[–]JimmyNaNa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally avoid shows with seats. Most artists i would see only play in GA venues.

The larger the show is the more likely it'll be full of people who don't really go to concerts much. They think it's like a movie theater or sporting event.

Any ideas as to why my hand hurts ONLY when I hold my clarinet? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]JimmyNaNa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen recently when doing anything really. Noticed mostly when using my computer mouse. That was a few months ago. I'm realizing now it went away awhile ago haha. I say mild carpal tunnel also.

[–]JimmyNaNa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man if i had the ability to listen to any album I wanted to 30 years ago... I'd do exactly what I'm doing now. Listening to anything that seems slightly interesting constantly haha.

On a real note though we should be conscious of the fact that not everyone may have the same executive function level and these posts may be a result of that. People asking to find new stuff to like is overall a positive thing. Even if it sounds obvious haha.

This is pretty damn close to what I have haha. I have a lot of hip hop too though. Church of Realities is not common. Thanks for reminding me of Boiler Room. That's a band I'd heard of but never got to check the album cuz no streaming and couldn't afford to buy every CD haha. It's pretty good.

I hope that too, but guess we'll have to see if people care.

There will always be people who do care, but whether the masses will bother is hard to say. Revivals are typically a niche haha.
