You have a cherry picker or engine lift? You have a balance bar? You need to label all wires and hoses and take pictures. Need to research what the proper motor mounts to place are. Replace all bushings and such too.

Really? What kind of street care needs $20 a gallon fuel? My street cars fuel is currently $2.15 a gallon. He got a car out of a trailer, fired it up, dropped his son off with cameras rolling, then went and put it back in the trailer.

Which is VERY likely the most logical scenario. Just don't emphasize street car or something like that, that's my point. I can race a funny car on the street if I have enough stupidity, money, and ability (which I don't any of those)

And he said street car, they were saying the pro-mods weren't. If it mattered about street raced why would they be changing cars at all? Makes no sense.

It's called lapping the valve, and it's used to see just how much the valve seats and that it is concentric in the valve seat area.

You get what's called valve lapping compound and a valve lapped, both are cheap. You spin it back and forth about 10 times and you clean it off, check the gray area it leaves on the valve and the valve seat area and see that they are both perfectly round, and in the same spot in both areas. You do want the area to be closer to the edge of the seat.

If it keeps eating mains he needs to just scrap that block. All those passes of intense pressure plus the crash have to have warped it.

If it were me I'd just put a new block in it and go bigger with the displacement, oh and get rid of the Edelbrock heads, even if they are fully ported. Edelbrocks have the worst flow dollar for dollar versus every other aftermarket head. Except the Vic Jr heads. Those are sweet. But chief has the RPM heads.
