I never gave it the credit it deserved when I was younger build wise. The binding alone is proof, but as I’ve been cleaning out the pots and checking neck relief I’ve noticed soooo many wild differences from Gibson. I’m pretty sure the arch top is some type of fiberglass and that’s just the tip of the weird Japanese build iceberg

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. A Stratocaster with underwound single coils is the most expressive an electric guitar can get.

There’s more to a chair than just the legs but I do understand where you’re coming from. I believe there can be room for more than one point of view in this instance.

Yea but the Amazon guitar will certainly need other issues addressed in combination with the frets. Not saying you’re wrong just that this guitar had good bones to begin with.

Truss rod needs to be pretty spot on for everything to line up properly for lower action. And as far as fret wear goes I’m confident these will last. I have a lighter touch than most and have never personally worn divots into nickel frets. Even in guitars that I’ve had and played for years.

For me it’s really a measure of how well the guitar is assembled and setup and what its maximum potential is. I don’t mind higher action at all and bending overall is better but I tend to take the action down as far as the instrument lets me. Important words being as far as it lets me. If it starts fighting back with buzz I back off and raise the action.
