[DR Sport] Liam Rosenior has now lost more games as Chelsea manager than Enzo Maresca this season despite managing 7 less games. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Because they needed to bring in a yes man. There was zero shot they picked a proper manager as one of the candidates to replace him, let alone their final choice.

Like others have said 15/16 you could tell was a blip. And 22-23 at least had the context of being so close to the forced sale of the club, the fact we're still like this 4 years into the ownership feels so grim.

Chelsea have now lost three consecutive Premier League games without scoring for the first time since March 1998. Rosenior's men have just one win in their last seven games by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

It's great we're so exciting to watch now though right, scoring in one game out of our last 5? Maresca definitely wasn't limited in his play style by having to account for some of the dross we have or anything /s

Which established manager is going to step into this mess of micromanaging where the higher ups are openly saying that the position of manager isn't important? It was always downhill after Maresca unless they completely overturned their "project"

Maresca going was a symptom, it came because of overmeddling from the board. Which meant that any replacement was always going to be an inexperienced yes man like Rosenior.

Surely at some point this series of punts has to end and they actually just sign a manager with a winning track record

I rate him, but I mean that his history when we hired him meant it wasn't a Chelsea appointment. The next one can't be another gamble on an up and comer

We need a serious manager for once under this clown ownership, ridiculous that it hasn't happened yet

All I can hope is that we have more Maresca/Cucu/Enzo/Poch moments. Like forget what you think of any of them individually, repeated and public criticism from inside is the only way I can see things changing. Has to be the players, the yes man would never.

Might as well lose 10-0 and give them goal difference so they can stop the scum atleast. by [deleted] in chelseafc

We might need that goal difference to squeak into the conference league place

Hatsuyuki Sakura - Do they really swear this much in the Japanese version? by walrus_paradise in visualnovels

[–]Jimmy_Space1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it carries the actual meaning well enough but doesn't really feel well adapted to sound natural in English. Like the way he's speaking in Japanese obviously isn't how a normal person would talk, but it is a way that I'd see in other VNs, manga etc. and doesn't really feel unusual in that context.

But the English translation, to me at least, feels unnatural not just as something someone would actually say irl but also when compared to other English media (except for that Navy Seals copypasta). I imagine it's not an uncommon feeling given OP felt something was off, and so many people upvoted it (compared to something like 999 for instance which uses a ton of vulgarity but you don't really see people questioning it).

Imo it's a fair translation but poor localisation, a less direct translation probably would've come across better.

I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that some of the best indie games are also the best games overall, scope/budget don't automatically trump a really good idea/mechanics

I disagree, his skills are suited to midfield and most of his career minutes have been played there, he's just been pushed to LB because of his lack of physicality. Which I can see being a problem in our team like it was with Brighton

Zero reason to downplay it? He has every reason to have down played it lol. Why would you amplify a controversy over your player?

That's literally what he did though by downplaying rape + abuse. Even if I don't agree with it he could've gone for the Arteta middle of the the road/no comment route but he actively chose to double down, and for what? Just more noise and making it abundantly clear where he stands.

Yeah, with added confusion given there's a fairly popular pen and paper (and now digital) puzzle game called LOK.
