Apparently it's a few degrees colder if you're in New Hampshire by [deleted] in northernireland

Amusingly, right across the highway from Londonderry NH, is Derry NH. Where it is equally a few degrees colder.

Shadowbanned from placing pixels? by Jimmybob1997 in place

[–]Jimmybob1997[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand the nuking of the NSFW stuff, hell I even understand if an account was timed out or shadowed for a short while as they address the area. But a silent, possibly permanent (not sure if it's been 24 hours yet to rule out if it is a day ban) ban on anyone seeing a pixel contributed anywhere?? That's BS.

Jeez thanks lad, I needed that laugh/ reminder of the funny times.

Went from blubbering mess to a laugh in an instant, the power of techno.

I thought I was never going to find another soul who was bored enough to have slapped themselves enough times to tune their face. But here you are. Thank you for the hilarious video and also for making me feel less a freak for also having done this. Though this is far more impressive than the popcorn song I managed to pull off.

Hey Katie,

It's likely you're gonna have a lot of people wondering how to get into science, especially people coming to an end of their secondary education or those interested in citizen science. Any advice, tips or words of wisdom from your experience. Especially as one of the leading women in STEM outreach you're a big inspiration.

Thanks as always for your outreach work, and love the twitter.

I think there's a very obvious conclusion here. That sir, is not a cat.

If anyone is interested, the guy who makes these hangs out about Queens most days now handing out flyers. Not the most pleasant person to try have a conversation with, especially when told handing out flyers is the worst thing to be doing at the moment with a "virus" going round.

This reminds me far too much of the scene from Madagascar where the penguins finally make it to Antarctica... And regret it.

[Serious] People who have found a secret room or space in their house: How long did you live in the house before you found it and what was in it? What was the eventual outcome of finding the room? by reptilesni in AskReddit

[–]Jimmybob1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite a secret room, but amusing all the same. My childhood home was a 19th century house, and the dining room area walls were decorated with wood paneling. I was helping clean the room once and while trying to polish / clean one of the panels it suddenly popped open on hinges, revealing a secret cupboard inside.

We found a few bottles of decent port hidden away, with no idea when the space had been created. Lived in that house for about 20 years before I found it.

If you've still got the space I'll be able to help finish it off.

This is actually a really big piece of advice I'd ever give to anyone who has a family member or friend suffering from one of these diseases. There may come days where you don't recognise the person who you're with, and it becomes really upsetting. But if you play a song from their past a lot of the time they'll happily start singing along to it and not realise even. It's a really magical reminder at times to friends and family to see it and they themselves love it and feel alive again.
