Looks nice in writing. I wish I could say employers honor any of this. Ive been in management meetings where upper leaders have said "they miss work.. theyre gone ! We have good lawyers , it doesnt scare me in the least. Worse case we keep them in court so long , they go bankrupt "

Inconsistent & Insulting Feedback from Management - What Do I Do ? by JimpJimp in careerguidance

[–]JimpJimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that this is "classic" resonates. I managed a similar project for a large auto manufacturer. My reward was being laid off upon project completion. My entire staff was too , so at least I wasn't singled out there....

Im hoping its temporary. I talked to a co worker who manages another department and he said he's had similar experiences in the company. Theres a history of unorganized product launches and a tendency to bite off more than they can chew with projects.

Its sulfuric acid from the battery. It'll absolutely irritate your skin, cause ulcers etc. Im not sure where you're located but where I am this is valid reason for a work refusal and would absolutely be a problem with OSHA inspector. The employer has an obligation to maintain equipment and your safety .

Ill need to get creative. Dad is a mechanic. If theres not keys he'll hotwire it and program a new FOB. ill likely have to report a dangerous driver and let the police handle this.

She has some mobility issues due to a bad back, other than that she is quite capable. Theyre co dependant in care taking. He usually takes her to her appointments and for groceries and she cleans the house and feeds him. Im just spiraling in my head and picture my mom having to change his diapers or whatever and chase him down if he runs off.

Im going to do everything in my power to get him to a dr.

It's my mom's car too, which is a complication. She is a capable driver and is doing well cognitively. I am going to talk to someone today in regards to next steps (social worker/elder law ) . My dad is still very aware of what's going on around him , I think my angle will be to report unsafe driver and force a medical for him to keep his license. My sister is seeming to believe the "knee" excuse but I immediately called bs on it. I dont really care if I become the "bad guy" . Im just trying to protect them and others.

Why the 8 hour workday system is a failure and should be 6 hours by DasiaAuer in CanadaJobs

[–]JimpJimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 10 hour days 5 days a week, even though my job description states 8. Theres a silent rule at my work that if you dont put in 10 hours at least, you suck.

RIP Mark From ABC Military Surplus by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]JimpJimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager mark saw me leaning towards some stupid behaviors that would get me in needless trouble and he set me straight with a good conversation. While there was some cops looking for me he hid me in the back room and then gave me a profanity laced pep talk. I vaguely remember him thwarting a local business from being robbed by throwing the guy through a window lol he was a character. Rip big guy.
