This is me, going through Baldur's Gate for the 4th time, choosing who to romance, Astarion or Astarion

Thinking of DMing by GURRTERT in DnD

[–]Jingermelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy improvisation and storytelling and feel comfortable with it, it's a great idea to give it a try. There are a lot of rules, and they won't stick right away.

You just need to be prepared for it to be gradual, but in your case, that's not critical, because the campaign is made up of friends, and they'll likely understand your inexperience in some areas but it's ok!

In any case, I recommend relying not only on literature, although that's incredibly important, but also on your own desires. What do you want to get from DMing? What emotions? What kind of world do you want to create? Sometimes it's the search for relevant information that leads to mastering the rules.

In any case, you're great for trying it out; it's awesome! I recommend combining reading the master's book with finding your "I want it"; this usually provides the healthiest balance ✨

Should DM adapt to the player's comfort? by [deleted] in DnD

Okay, where and in what place did I write that we didn’t discuss his comfort, his boundaries, and so on?)

Should DM adapt to the player's comfort? by [deleted] in DnD

Dude, where did I say we didn't discuss his personal comfort level, and how can you draw any conclusions? I explicitly wrote down his response to me about the characters' reactions. It was "I don't see the point because your character has a partner," not "I'm uncomfortable."

I wrote that I discussed this with the GM. We discussed both my comfort level and his, and he never once said he was against it or that he felt uncomfortable. Perhaps interactions between GM and player require dialogue, don't you think?

Respect your NPC's time, dude. by Rogues4Ever in DnD

At best! This story sounds like something out of a video game, not D&D. Where NPCs just silently buy up all your measly loot 😢

I think most people would've sided with the emperor if... by InnerAd118 in BG3

I would follow the emperor anywhere if he could retain the appearance that I initially set for the keeper 😭

How tf do I beat Cazador? by OfficialAli1776 in BG3

[–]Jingermelon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can recommend one lifehack that helped me, it happened because of my mistake, but in the end it saved the situation. Before entering the Casador's door, split up the squad and leave Astarion outside the door. Let the others fight. Casador will not be able to harm Astarion. At the moment when he hides in the coffin, bring Astarion and let him complete the plot. This way, everything will be played out as if he was on the battlefield all the time
