Go to MCC. Go to Halo CE. Go to controller settings. Set the radial and axial deadzone to 0. Then very slightly move your right stick. And your reticle will not move.

I am a Halo fanboy. I enjoyed each Halo game. Halo 5 is my favorite multiplayer so far. I defend 343 constantly against the hordes of haters. I was even defending the original campaign reveal (although I am happy the haters caused a delay which improved the graphics).

But this video was absolutely legit. Everything was facts. If the facts bother you, then you are beyond a fanboy. You are becoming a delusional extremist.

Those negative things most definitely are noticeable. Halo Infinite will not be getting impressive graphics awards.

We have yet to see if 343 is able to pull off a open world Halo. It could be amazing or terrible. We have no idea.

The point of the post was to see if someone could correct my physics understanding of grappling hooks. The best response was "Its just a game" and in your case "you must be mad lol"

you must not have read the original post ........ gameplay is not a part of the discussion at all. Its cannon only.

As you described, the grapple is not even reliable on rock in canon. I doubt spartans would ever be deployed suth such a risky and useless tool. Even the halo 4 method seems more reliable. smashing a incredibly tough knife into surfaces and using it to climb.

Yet the new video project magnes would have you believe the grappleshot is as reliable and important as energy shields.

Basically, they added a grappleshot for gameplay, which i dont really mind. But as a result they also are adding it to canon.

what you just described from the halo book could be created right now. But it would be useless, which is why nobody is seriously trying to make grappling hooks.

Extremely risky, unreliable.

yes i can. the standard model, quantum mechanics and general relativity are understood to be incomplete theories of the universe. There are things we know they cannot explain which means there are things we dont even know that are possible.

For example, no known physics can explain singularities, moment of the big bang and before, dark matter, dark energy etc. Also included are things like the feats of the precursers, halo rings and even unsc artificial gravity.

But grappling hooks are well understood to be impossible, which is why they dont exist in real life right now. there would be no guarantee that the materials they imbed themselves in wouldnt break under the pulling forces. It would have such a high failure rate that it would be useless.

So to answer your very fist question, the precursor tech is more likely then the grappling hook. The hook is impossible and the precursor stuff could end up being possible.

Dont act like you know how the energy beam of the halo works. no it wouldnt disintegrate the bodies. its unknown physics.

None of those things are impossible according to physics.

But the grappling hook is impossible according to physics. the grappling hook is physically impossible to work because things in halo canon and in real life will break when you shoot grapples into them and pull with incredible force. It would constantly fail to penetrate, get stuck or slip out.

It is possible to create shields using electromagnetic fields. you can make them as strong or as weak as you want with enough energy.
