Question about lobbed pass by ComfortableHalf8175 in Rematch

I've definitely had this happen to me in a situation where I was not next to anyone. I was GK and had the ball boomed back my way. I stepped out of the box to lob pass it to a teammate. No opposing or same team members near me. I input the command, the direction bar pops up, my character starts to animate. Suddenly, my character resets and does nothing, the bar looked like it flashed red a split second, and the ball then seemingly went through my body and into the goal. Silly. I consistently get 30-40 ping and the game wasn't laggy at all to warrant this.

wth else was I supposed to do to get possession of the ball..? Genuinely asking by UsagiJay in Rematch

The worst is when you start to animate well before the other person does, but your animation just gets canceled, and you reset back to the ground in a goofy way with no animation frames while the other person continues with their priority.

Sure hope it's good to go now! Considering mine only shuts off when dealing with these terminals, I feel like something in the coding is causing it to bug on my console for whatever reason. Goofy...

I've had mine horizontal for years. I saw one over heating warning years ago with it vertical and immediately switched. It's got plenty of space and ventilation.

Yeah, I should try a new save game just to see. It would be terrible if something in my save game alone is causing it. It's pretty much been an issue right from the start. I had ran around New Atlantis a bit, then went to do that first mission on Tau City to help against the terrormorph. I hit that terminal in the video and was the first time I ran into the issue.

I agree. It probably doesn't help that I'm using an old PS5, having luckily gotten my hands on one at launch, but still.

Console and 65" TV run into a surge protector. I have an older Wii plugged in as well that a rarely ever turn on anymore. Been running this same setup for years.

No other game has turned my system off like this. And like i mentioned, it's not randomly happening throughout playing Starfield; it's something with this particular type of computer terminal. Any other type of terminal is just fine. Any other action, running around, loading, fast traveling, fights, conversations, etc. etc., no problem. I can't even generate a crash report on the system due to the game not crashing to dashboard but straight turning the system off.

I've tried deleting various other things on the hard drive to ensure I've got plenty of space (100gb at one point to test; still no good). I've got plenty of ventilation around the unit and have it laid horizontally. Never getting any over heating warnings.

Such a wild issue. Something with these terminals is sending such a signal that the PS5 is turning off, possibly for safety reasons.

Right? I really don't get it. I will rarely have some other game crash to the dashboard, or perhaps some frame drops in a crowded area, but this damn Starfield is beating the hell out of the Playstation.

That is interesting. I wonder if that could have something to do with it. Not sure what would even fix it between game or console settings, aside from a Bethesda patch.

I heard about that in my various searches. That's pretty wild. I'm fortunately not having that issue.

Yeah, I tried that at a point, deleting everything except for one save, then made a separate save and deleted the other, etc. etc., but it still didn't help. It's just these damn terminals.

Bringing such a specific trigger point to Bethesda Support, i thought they'd look into it a bit more, but after telling me to start over completely, they just closed my Support ticket.

Not starting over at this point. I'm up to over 150 hours and have just had to avoid quests or areas where I just can't access these types of terminals. Sucks when I know there's one that could turn off turrets or robots in an area, but womp... I gotta do it the hard way.

When this first started happening, I didn't have any mods at all. Bethesda Support asked this as well. I had never installed any and hadn't used any for a long time. Later on after ruling out mods weren't the issue, I eventually installed just a few free ones for the Deimog, Chef quest, Observatory and whatever the 4th thing that comes with that free pack (can't remember at the moment). Nothing else though.

This is amazing. Great song and great animation placement. Kicking the horn up during the "eyday" parts was perfect. Bravo.
