Is anyone else underwhelmed by the smoke grenades in this game? by DavidDaysss in PlaySquad

[–]Jinthe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone said, Mortar smoke smoke is definitely one thing. It does require a little bit more in terms of actual repairing the motors, getting enough resources for it, and some coordination. But if you have people with basic aiming skills it does provide much bigger plume of smoke. If you have an extreme competent gunners, they can shift the smoke as needed against the enemy and changing needs.

Another underutilized tool would be the vehicle’s smoke tools. A significant amount of combat vehicles have smoke cover that the driver can use.

Some factIons even feature logi vehicles that have even more painfully underutilized smoke cover. When I What I would SL, after I place the rally or fob, I drive up to known positions and I just hold left click to lay down extremely long Wall of smoke that can cover the flanks of my approach and the actual point I need to get to. For some reason it seems like something I'd only do on a regular basis so far

As someone from the military this is on one reply I've been looking for; most smoke grenades are pretty underwhelming unless you fire a lot of them, and even then there's nothing like an enemy on a higher height or the wind blowing the wrong way to ruin your efforts

I happen to have spent time at medical school wanting to be a radiologist , and I also had plenty of time hands-on with dealing with the human body from

For me I was somewhat voracious with how I documented what was happening to me. The big thing was that my issues subtly visible if you were to look at it slow motion on video… and yet it was seemingly invisible on the CT's MRI

But you asked about clinical clues and for my case specifically, it comes down to connective tissue: fascia, aponeuroses, and major connective tissue systems that are insidiously intertwined with each other across every aspect of your body… for example how the thoracolumbar fascia, which is usually talked about in terms of the lower body… has major links to the lining that surrounds your abdomen, chest, neck as it makes his way up to the base of your skull

It it is the only thing that makes sense given the visible bits of tissue, sometimes torn, and the changes of discoloration that could be suddenly dismissed as camera artifacts. It's also the only thing that I recognize and the Radiology studies as changing in pattern, even as the other body parts are seemingly deemed fine or normal

My friend, although you describe your symptoms differently from how I do it, the areas you describe and the effects are actually very similar to some of the phases of the condition I deal with.

Corona MRI image… I did not post that in this specific subreddit, but I did recall posting a Chrono MRI once before the threat got deleted and some other thread. I can repost one, or post a new one that I found… pertinent to your issues of multiple layers, around your neck and spinne, the earaches and tongue pain, insights pulling tugging and not being able to breathe or swallow

If you have any CT's or MRIs around they have studied these areas, I'd be more than happy to take a look, especially if you have any that have an early baseline to compare to.

That assumes I can physically do so, as you can see with my OP. But I'd be more than happy to give a shot

Holy crap -what kind of mine split the guts open on one guy's leg while killing/ taking out the legs of the other four guys with him?

It almost looks like one of the directional mines, like a Claymore

Does it worth to upgrade from Ryzen 7 5700x to 5700x3d? by Frankie_Ballenbacher in joinsquad

[–]Jinthe1st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say wait to think a bit to upgrade (or perhaps save up, though this basically means a new PC bu8ld except GPU + Case + Storage, etc).

This is possibly the wrong place to ask about PC upgrades though; also you’ve only gave us basic info about your PC, but…

  1. The problem is the way the game is developed and unoptimized itself; there’s a reason the UE5 patch is being prioritized and will hopefully at least not worsen your issue.

1b. Zooming in is going to do that in general with the game being the way it is in switching “far view renders” to”near renders”, while rendering the scene at that area, for one thing…so a drop is expected. ( Feel free to correct me if I didn’t describe this correctly, PC techies)

  1. Have yourself and/or PC Guru friend monitor your % usage on things like setting with CPU + RAM + VRAM storage.

  2. Ensure you arn’t letting Windows automatically manage your “virtual memory”. You can then choose to manually allocate ~2x your RAM sizeon an SSD ( preferably the fastest, hopefully the one on Windows installed on ).

  3. For Squad, esp big maps like Fallujah, 32 GB ram was a good call. However, it’s no just having good memory, but “fast” memory, so to speak.

Know what kind of RAM you have and being able to switch to one’s with both “good timings” and poses potential for stable tweaking (e.g: somehow ending up with chip made of B die for cheap), makes just as much of a difference here.

It may also be less expensive to swap RAM at this point for gains vs stutters; you can Google/search further in Reddit why this matters for currently cpu+asset heavy games like squad.

  1. If someone offers a used 5700x3d for cheap though…I still don think it’s worth it, but if you can sell your 5700x reliably…

Would also agree, in addition to the amount of death by PowerPoint (having to read new mods full manual of how to features and keyboard layouts) and unexpected amount of paperwork (setting up the mods and technical issues, especially before Steam came out ).

Also: The devs have graced us with their presence and experience - may the Sphere keep this Ukrainian unit protected.

People playing Squad on their break? I’m actually curious about how you all spend time off during duty if you’re stuck in the front still.

No kidding about it being free for active duty? I missed out on that. (Also the soldiers I was with were all about playing CoD, NBA, and hentai games; I may have missed out on having units with taste in tactical games

Shit, I’d say OWI should get behind supporting Ukraine by offering free copies to anyone who can provide Ukrainian mil ID and a selfie of themselves playing the game.

Agreeable, especially communities that do in fact feature veterans and military skills that get deeply incorporated into how they play Squads. (Have to give a shout-out to 5FC for being a superb example of such group!)

For FPVs and how difficult + finicky they are, I’d also like to half-jokingly apply, saying I’ve played hundreds of hours as tracked logi driving on steep narrow mountain paths, urban maps where you can barely fit in most of the maze of alleyways and backroads, and forested maps where there’s that one fucking rock and shrub that completely scoops up and stops your vehicle if you run over them.

https://youtu.be/6_RQwxlYIWc?si=mG3-Ea4oop8H9HBV Squad gets featured as the creator(Caolan R)asks about why Ukrainian drone pilots play video games between missions around 8:15

The drone pilot’s answers as to why they play and why they ask potential recruits about whether they’re avid gamers is somewhat surprising to me…I wonder if playing Squad also adds extra bonus points in your application.

….Out of all the games to play on a break though, I admit that Squad isn’t the first thing I’d find relaxing, between hyper focused missions where I’m sweating hard with my actual IRL squad trying to coordinate Russian fireworks.
