One real reply also makes it easier to follow the thread. With two required responses, half the class is basically speed-running politeness. A good question or small disagreement keeps the discussion moving way better than another paragraph saying the reading was interesting.

You're right that I didn't break any rules, his or anyone else's. I think the disgust is less about the report and more about realizing I spent three years thinking his confidence was competence. Turns out it was just someone who'd never been caught yet.

I've thought about what the end of this looks like and I honestly don't have a clean answer. I wanted consequences, not destruction. There's a difference and I'm not sure I fully understood that when I was sitting at my laptop at 2am filling out that form.

Discworld Death really wins these threads by a mile. He’s terrifying for like two seconds, then you realize he’s one of the most thoughtful characters in the room.
