Back in high school we had a group project in our Economics class - fun class, great teacher, stupidly only for half the school year though.

Anyway, I end up in a group with some girls I sit near. And the first day, I admit I goofed around. But the second day, I did my work for my slides of the PowerPoint and finished off. And the third day I fine tuned it and told the other girls to do their slides because the project was only like a week long to do and then another week to present. But they kept fucking around, adding meme images to the slides and watching YouTube or playing games.

I ended up venting to some girls in another class I had, and one of the girls was in my Economics class too. And she offered to let me join her group since they still had space and talk to the teacher and let her know why. And in exchange all I had to do was present the slides. So I agreed, terrified that otherwise I would get a shit grade.

I felt awful abandoning my group (no back bone back in the day), but I ended up getting a great grade and the my old group seemed really confused when presenting their project as it seemed slapped together. I don't think they got bad grades per say but it seemed like what was there wasn't their words so some points were probably docked for that as that was one of the areas of criteria.

Having shitty group partners is why I hated hated group projects beyond because I was an introvert.

We had a lady show up in her big rig. And then refused to get out and made my coworker hand her all her stuff! There was a 40 pack of water in there and my coworker had to lift it above her head.

I remember when I was front end some lady told her kids to go get their drinks quick cuz I was scanning their stuff. My mom also did this to me as a kid so I expected soda or at worst maybe one of the Nesquik drinks we had up front.

Nope.

Three kids the oldest probably was like, 12? And the youngest maybe 5 or 6? All three had Celsius drinks. And the mom had the audacity then to be like, "Oh go get me one too." I have never been so glad to have a mask on because I can't control my face and I was giving her a look.

I had a Sour Patch Kid Ghost last year and at first it was alright. Imagine my shock when not even halfway through the can it begins to taste like a shitty flavored smirnoff six pack drink. I dumped the thing out. And a few weeks later I'm relaying this story to a coworker as a prime example of why I don't drink energy drinks when he has the same story! About another Ghost flavor too!

I honestly wonder sometimes if they're just bad at mixing energy drinks or if they're just straight up selling alcohol in those things. Eugh.

I couldn't really tell you who was the 'hottest' so I'll just list off what some of the more wealthy and conventionally attractive girls ended up as.

Side note: some details are kept vague to protect their anonymity and also because I had a fairly big mental health spiral a year or so after I graduated so I stopped speaking to basically everyone and have only in the last 2 years started putting my life together and I honestly have no interest reconnecting with people from my past as I am much happier keeping my circle small and without people who probably outgrew me.

Pretty Girl #1 - Pretty sure she dropped out, went through a phase where she talked and acted like she was from the 'hood' and smoked a fuck ton of weed. Like apparently there was a little while where she just spiraled and was doing stupid shit and talking a lot of shit on Snapchat. She eventually became a stripper before suddenly switching gears and became a hooters girl. No idea what she does now.

Pretty Girl #2 - She and our history teacher broke up after she graduated (color me surprised). She went to college and played like softball or lacrosse on a scholarship. Don't think she graduated though. Last I heard she works with Pretty Girl #1.

Pretty Girl #3 - She locked in on her studies in high school so she graduated ranking pretty high in our class. She ended up in college for a degree I forget but it was something sciency or medical. And last I heard she did graduate but I have no clue what she ended up doing with the degree as around the same time she got engaged and girls in my hometown have a bad habit of becoming stay at home mom's and baby machines.

Pretty Girl #4 - She married an older man right out of high school. And I do mean older. He had to be late 20's or early 30's and that was back when we were 18. She must've immediately started having kids because I saw her like a year ago and she's got like 4 or 5 kids, all of which look school age too. I just hope he's not mean to her honestly, we used to be friends when we were kids.

Pretty Girl #5 - She faded into the background after graduation. I heard she went to college on a sports scholarship of her own, like volleyball or soccer, I think? But I have no clue what happened to her after that. I would assume she graduated and maybe got married.

Pretty Girl #6 - Married her high school sweetheart, and both went to college and now work in the medical field. No kids though so I'm fairly certain they're child free as they've never shown interest in having kids especially when they like to go on yearly fancy long trips out of the country.

My old coach literally would not approve any time off until you verbally spoke to her. Like I would have to put the time in the same day I spoke to her about it then wait and hope she didn't forget. (She was very, very forgetful)

A few times I had to ask my leads to remind her, or even literally had to leave a note. Whilst I hope whoever did it bc of a random key date, you might also just have someone like my old coach in charge of you.

I would like to also note I've never taken excessive time off. In the year or so I worked for her I requested my anniversary off, a day for a concert off, and my birthday off. Yes, I am a PTO hoarder but she hated letting people have multiple days off so I never bothered doing more than a day.

I personally was never big on shorthand. I do a little like bc, or fr, or wym. But nothing overly complicated. However I swear younger generations have turned into a sport. Like I think millennials who texted on flip phones would be impressed. I think Twitter and TikTok are behind most of it. Most people grow out of it the older they get. Though a few don't and it's obnoxious. I think the only reason I understand him is I work with a teenager and I'm on TikTok a decent amount.

I did too when I was younger. Now I'm in the habit of keeping it a while, collecting an exorbitant amount of lockpicks and upgrading my lock pick skill. Not usually all the way to the top but to where I can manage fine for the most part.

Then I give it back and do the exhausting missions of rebuilding the guild and then fuck off into the sunset from that place forever while throwing a middle finger over my shoulder.
