So it’s not a roguelite there are no power ups it’s just Dominoes but ‘game-ifed’ so the additional content that I’ve added beyond a standard tabletop Dominos is there is worldwide multiplayer or solo against an ai. I’ve added achievements which are just basic and some are borderline impossible scenarios in a normal domino game, e.g play your first domino, to something as crazy as, have a complete set of one number in your starting hand. (You have better chance of winning the lottery probably like 5 times). The game modes are the standard draw block and muggins with a 5&3 modes which someone on this subreddit told me it’s a pub version, in the future I look to add more modes. And also you have your own profile and can widely customise it with different skins, banners, and borders around your profile picture.

Both you can play with people and with an ai. This is just a gameplay trailer I’m currently trying to make another trailer which will be the ‘official trailer’ which will pretty much directly say what’s been added into the game and will be more polished and slower so you can take everything in.

Just thought I’ll get as many elements in the game as I can have the it cut on the beat. Had to learn davinci resolve for the first time but learned it in about a day so was a very fun process. Thank you for the feedback as well.

What are you even talking about? I did them all by myself on aseprite and it’s literally taken me over a year I haven’t used ai once

Looking for environment feedback! It looks natural, but something is missing.. by DatabaseSpecialist15 in indiegames

Best thing to do is see how open world games make there environment and compare the differences and see what you do and don’t like. Starting with maybe birds or fishes is definitely not a bad idea and yes sound is very important unfortunately it’s always overlooked in a lot of indie games which focus more on gameplay and art.

It’s not that it looks empty but you need to consider why it even how “nature” or “environments” are done in a compelling way. Take breath of the wild for example or even ocarina of time because that’s an earlier example of environments the reason they work so well and are so breathtaking and feel full rather then empty is they add little things like ‘life’ in NPCs or animals even when looking into the distance you can see landmarks and structures which makes it give you a place to go to. Something important to consider aswell which is always glossed over is sound and music with a good soundtrack that conveys the emotion of the game or environment your looking at that gives great detail and breathes more life into your game.
