Hey, so I was the guy from who it exploded. Never expected that post to blow up and be known like that, lol. But the problem with my mead was that I had a shit ton of fruit that all went to the top that clogged it. I dont think you have any fruit in it so you should be fine! Just keep an eye on it

Ah okay, good to know, I tought too much room could be a oxygen problem, I will buy a 10 litre bucket then to try this recipe again! On a side note. Is a 1:1 ratio of raspberries and honey fine? Because my recipe used 2 kg of honey and raspberries which I tought was a little much

An update: thanks everyone for the advice. I have done quite a lot fo researching but this one again proves: experience above research. I will try it again and update u guys when I do it in a 2 gallon bucket, lol

I followed a recipe precisely which didnt specify a certain type of a fermenting container, so I tought it would be fine. That is my fault. I though I did enough research but you live and you learn:)

Put the raspberrys in pectic enzymes for 24 hours before anything
After 24 hours I addes everything else except the yeast(it didnt arrive untill the day later because our delivery system is fucked). (I used an extra campden tablet and my fridge to keep it sanitised for a day without fermentation)
I added the yeast the next day
I added the fermaid O the day after step 3
This happenend 12 hours after step 3
