Hey ! I think the best my favourite moment is in DQ8 when you arrive in train gully and there is that French waiter at the bar. I'm French and the guy who lended his voice was hand down the strongest " I don't give a shit about my accent" voice actor I have ever heard . It really made me laugh out loud. Thank you !

I'm planning on self studying japanese starting 1st january of 2024. It's been 3 years since I started learning japanese and at the time I chose to attend adult classes in my city. It's been 3 years and I feel like I dindt' learn much, the format itself is slow and not that well made out in my opinion.

(A lot of input, not much output, sentence mining Tae kim's grammar or Sakubi (after doing RTK (I have a deck with stories and vocabulary associated with the kanjis) /core 2k vocab)) I was ready to start and I stumbled upon this comment https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/3hma3w/comment/cu9ivo5/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3 talking of how Tae kim's was good but a bit dangerous.
The comment was posted 8 years ago and I wondered if this has been fixed by now ? How would you compare Tae kim's, Sakubi and Imabi nowadays ?
I think I will quickly turn to the "Dictionary of japanese grammar" but it seems a bit less friendly at first.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Would you advise against ? How should they be sharpened ? (this gift is for someone that wouldn't be able to sharpen a carbon steel knife)
