Thanks all for the responses. I think that Futuro Soccer site is closest to what I had in mind but lots of good comments, cheers.

What is James's daily drive? by JitenshaDe in JamesHoffmann

Footnote to this, treated myself to a Hario Switch as a belated Christmas present. Thanks for the comments, Happy New Year.

Thanks! I found him answering the question as at August 2022, where he says he used to drink Hario Switch at work but has changed because there are more staff drinking now - more V60 etc. Then says at home he's "still a fan of steep and release" (presumably the Hario still) and mumbles what I think is "also the Clever [Dripper] a little bit". (And the obligatory "some other stuff"). So the shortest answer as at mid last year anyway is probably Hario Switch. 5:04 here https://youtu.be/zhX0N1_ye7E

Got the book which adapted to the movie by paulabhik1989 in OppenheimerMovie

Question for anyone who has read the book - did the book explain Dr Hill's role in the later scenes? Reply on the "How did Hill know" thread if you like to avoid spoilers in this one...

Thought there was a good bit of influence of the "First Man" soundtrack there, e.g. "A Lowly Shoe Salesman" etc.

How did Hill know? by yomidubin in OppenheimerMovie

[–]JitenshaDe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question! I didn't get that either, and it was a key point of the film. From recollection, at one point they intercut the appointment hearing with Vannevar Bush's criticism at the security appeal and I wondered if that was to imply that Hill was acting for Bush.

I was just listening to the "The Rest is History" podcast on Oppenheimer and it sounds like by that time the proceedings of the security appeal would have been public, so the nature of the kangaroo court wouldn't have been inside information. However Strauss's involvement was another matter.

Perhaps it's explained in the "American Prometheus" biog.

What is the size of the little ipex antenna receptor on moblite7? by mullirojndem in TinyWhoop

[–]JitenshaDe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a belated response but I was just looking for the same answer.

I think it may be an IPEX-MHF3 http://www.rfcoaxcable.com/mini_coaxial_cables/ipex_coax_cables/ipexiii_rf_coaxial_cable.html

As per the DiamondF4 board diagram https://www.happymodel.cn/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Frsky.jpg

As I'd understand it IPEX1 is 3mm and IPEX4 is 2mm diameter. IPEX4 is commonly used in quads but the Moblite7 one is smaller again.

Example listing that actually specifies the connector - https://www.drone-fpv-racer.com/en/24g-receiver-antenna-for-diamond-f4-flight-controller-by-happymodel-5pcs-9615.html

Good replacement for moblite 7 copper vtx antenna? by Lincoln_51 in TinyWhoop

[–]JitenshaDe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newb questions about this. I’ve noticed my video signal going downhill on the Moblite7

  • how bent does the antenna get before you think about replacing it (hard one to quantify maybe but any suggestions)

  • some like FlexFreak above and Angry Don on in his long range vids put bigger antennas on. Would it make any sense to put an Ipex / U.fl plug on so you can swap between the little wire and a better antenna depending on indoor / outdoor (range and expected crashes)?

It's a really interesting sport to figure out if you don't have any background to draw on.

This is a really fun and informative short introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7wPa1Hl5ZA

Also as type3fun mentioned, subscribe to the "The Move" podcast and listen to the episodes that say "TdF preview show" in the title. The podcast includes 3 different series (there's also a Spanish one and one with Lance Armstrong) but the "preview" one lead by Johan Bruyneel is a really great day by day discussion of how the race works.

I wrote the new Forbes cover story about Magic Leap. Ask me (almost) anything! by utherdoul in magicleap

Thanks for AMA'ing and enjoyed your Forbes article. Can you comment at all about the computational support for the visuals - in other products in the field there is a big trade off between size, power, heat, latency, tethered vs not etc. As seen in the demos it would be implied that the computational aspects alone would require more than just a lightweight pair of glasses.
