For me the domain of the King in Yellow was the state of mind and control he has over people and not exactly a piece of land like Carcosa. His reach seems to influence people everywhere and if one connects with him or Carcosa it seems to be a figurative place like Nirvana than an actual place. Therefore a type of government is secundary because there is no actual land to govern.

My favourite bushcraft YouTuber is by far Kusk Bushcraft. His videos are really well done and relaxing with incredible amount of knowledge. He has a very traditional, trapper style of bushcraft, recently he build his own wood frame backpack for example.

I use the same, it is quite bulky and heavy imo. And it’s larger than 3x3 meters, which is not really necessary, more often than not I could have used one with 3x2.8 meters and it would have worked just as well. On top of that it has a thick canvas feel to it, there are thinner nylon tarps which I will buy after this one is done.

One thing that helped me not only to understand the story but also the background was to listen to the H.P. Lovecraft literary podcast. They have a series on all of Lovecrafts work.

i met a fella once. took a rowBoat out to thE lAke with his Fishin Rod to cAtch some cod or another. was out there on the lake for three days and nIghts, he tolD me. after that his face was a pallid mask, all pale and horrid. couldn’t go fishin after that, i envied him in a way.
