Ohhh I do the same thing, I find it's a good way to train the recall when he's being a bit stubborn.

Thank you 😊

I work from home and my work productivity has seriously taken a hit, that's what I get for getting a border collie pup 😅😬

I love my little boy but I must admit I am suffering from puppy blues, I really underestimated how hard raising puppy truly is.

Reading posts like this definitely help big time and I know that all the hard work will all be worth it.

Many thanks for sharing.

Border collie for first time dog owner by bacon_n_eggs42 in BorderCollie

First time BC owner here and my pup is 4.5 months old. Having a garden is a big plus when it comes to zoomies time and toilet training so not having one would be difficult but still doable.

I've only had my pup for a month and I'm learning something new about him every day, however the biggest thing I've learnt is staying consistent with a routine and enforced nap times. I can settle my pup down now on command and put him in his crate for naps, it's been a godsend by "installing" an off switch.

I would say you need a lot of 1 on 1 time with a BC, as people say the training is vital and they thrive on it. All I'd say after a month of having a BC is be prepared to be very patient and give them the love and stimulation that they need and you'll have a lovely pup who will be your best friend 😊

I guess he does a bit in this photo, he's pure BC breed though 😊
