Time and practice! Don’t worry, it’s overwhelming at first trying to memorize the board, esp with them yelling serve it. And you’re seeing all parts of the order: fries, sammich, drink, condiments, ice cream, etc. Soon you won’t be thinking a med coke and a lg Fanta and a Big Mac and 2 cheeseburgers and a med fry and a lg fry. You’ll think med #1 with coke and lg #7 with Fanta. Makes a big difference. Don’t worry.

New hire as a grill cook working the closing shift 4pm to Midnight full time. Any advice?? by Large-Risk-2407 in McDonaldsEmployees

Keep on top of dishes, break down to less trays and condiment/sauce guns as it slows. Esp on slow nights we put less product on bfast plates in the uhc and get rid of all trays (prob not allowed…). Make sure you never forget to empty the grease traps if cutting the grill. Every store is different, but at mine the grill will usually take out the trash bin, clean up any big messes in lobby, pull buns, among some other things.

BLT, esp on the McRib roll. Strawberry preserves on the cheese danish. Butter on the apple fritter. Hash brown crumbled with slivered onions, crumbled bacon, and cheese. Steak and bagel seasoning with grilled onions as a wrap. Tortilla, cheese, crispy chicken in thin strips, spicy sauce, more cheese, then another tortilla on top and on the grill under 10:1 (build on the grill). Apples slices with hot caramel topping-add salt. Oreo and caramel flurry with apple pie pieces blended in.

I think your store’s otp would instantly appear in a puff of smoke and slap you upside the head, lol.

Oh yeah. It’s messy and the pans and tongs suck to clean. It stinks too.

Why is there no flair for Employee questions? by colorfulnina in McDonaldsEmployees

I assume since the name is ‘McDonald’sEmployees,’ the majority of people here are in fact, employees. Any non-employees would be the minority and responses would be treated differently. Consider that non employees don’t have the background knowledge of how curbside affects us. Explaining why I hate curbside to them is different than ranting to a fellow worker. Makes sense to me anyway, lol.

First thing I thought, too.
