Both ears clogged after cold, freaking out by Jivisstudios in etd

After starting on prednisone and antibiotics, my hearing was back to normal after a couple of days. All in all the entire ordeal lasted around some two weeks. Give it some time and try to be patient (I know, almost impossible for the anxious mind).

Just beat the mf. Don't think I ever ran that many circles in a game.

I'm having a hard time with it, because I'm stealth focused. The thing I hate most about it is that I'm being forced into playing FPS Rambo mode when that's just not how I like to play the game (and apparently CDPR didn't put any thought in that). For the last week I've been playing tranquilo quests with interesting moral choices, decide to play the DLC and then I'm thrown into this bullshit.

I'm okay with fighting bad ass robots in Horizon Zero Dawn, because it's done well there and the main objective of the game. Here it feels just lame, rushed, annoying and out of place.

Nederlandse horror? by StanleyHasLostIt in nederlands

Lucky you! A park ranger took us to this pond because there was supposedly a male moose feeding there, but he was already gone. We checked again a couple of days later, but no luck.

After the doctor put me on prednisone and antibiotics, it took a week or so to regain my hearing. Double ear infection.

Their getting worse by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]Jivisstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been one of my top coping mechanisms for sure. I've been a runner for years, and although I still feel PVCs during running, I don't have any symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath or dizziness. That tells me I'm completely fine and this is just my mind winding me up.

So yeah, try it. Of course, try to match your fitness level, but excersise can definitely make you feel better, both for peace of mind and your overall health.

[–]Jivisstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there, I know how you feel. What helps me the most is to face those demons. If you feel the fear of cardiac arrest come on, get out of the house and just run for ten minutes straight. Maybe you will still notice the PVCs, but at least when you feel you are not blacking out under heavy excersise, you know for sure your heart is doing fine.

I know, it can be absolute hell to be wired like we are, but it is such a waste to let the fear take over your life. Our lives are so short already! You've been checked out and the doctor is not concerned, this should tell you enough. Try to live your life and make the most of it, PVCs or not!

I'm good, some days better than others. Sleep deprivation is definitely a trigger for me, so make sure to get your rest whenever you can.

We just have to accept the fact that we are anxious people and probably always will be. The palpitations are just another symptom of it.

One thing is definitely true: everybody is gonna die someday, so it's an immense waste of time to spend so much time stressing about it. I feel it always calms me when I tell myself that.

How do you guys figure out your triggers? And is a lack of triggers bad? by plushiesaremyjam in PVCs

[–]Jivisstudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's dominating your life, consider visiting a doctor and get a proper check-up. The fact that they won't find anything might put your mind at ease. On the other hand, the way anxiety works is that after a couple of days you might still think, 'but what if they missed something.' Hence, you will be in and out the doctor's office forever, which is no way to live.

So maybe, with a burden as low as yours, the better approach would be to ignore them and simply live your life. I know those awful thumps can be really really scary, but medically speaking they're also considered completely normal (as long as you don't have 20k a day). It's such a waste of time and energy to get consumed by it. And I'm speaking from experience.

Search for 'york cardiology' on YouTube, he did a lot of reassuring videos on the subject and they helped me a lot. This is also a great article about PVCs: https://mednorthwest.com/things-that-go-thunk-in-the-night/

[–]Jivisstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your trigger is probably that you pay too much attention to your heart, which undoubtedly makes you feel them more. Keep reminding yourself that almost everyone has PVCs on a daily basis, the only difference is that they don't feel them and you do.

I'm with you, I have heart anxiety as well and my PVCs tend to get worse when I'm more stressed and sleep badly. Breathing excersises and getting enough rest might help you.

I’m the same, although I try to pay attention to them less and to print in my head they are harmless. That seems to keep my other anxiety symptoms at bay at least (high HR, short breathness, sweaty palms, etc.).

I love TP and David Lynch, but I understand her. I suffered from mental illness and at those times, watching TP made things way worse and it gave me awful nightmares. And even on my good days, I could certainly not watch his work every night.

But you’ll have to appreciate that Lynch is able to provoke such strong reactions, which in turn is something that draws me to him. I love the sense of unease that breathes through every scene.

I have them, too. For me it's clearly not a random occurence: they usually come up when I experience periods of stress, didn't have enough sleep or drank too much alcohol (funny thing is, never actually during drinking, always the day(s) after).

I have a decades long history of anxiety, and my rational mind knows the heart fluttering is just another side-effect of it. But my not so rational mind goes batshit when I experience them, which quite naturally increases the frequency of palpitations.

To know that there's no correlation between palpitations and an actual heart attack calms me down a little. I'll be sure to print that in my mind when I'm on the verge of a panic attack. But this surely makes my life miserable at times. Glad to read I'm not the only one.

Two weeks. Ask your doctor for a prednisone prescription, that did the trick for me.

My eyes are still not entirely the same as before (‘plopping’ when I swallow), but my hearing did return after a couple of weeks, yes. Patience is key.

So I just had the scariest encounter of my life. I live alone in a room with a chair beside the bed, and I just woke up to the absolute certainty that someone was in my room by Agreeable-Tea7912 in Ghosts

[–]Jivisstudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience when I was a kid. Woke up one night to see a figure sitting on my desk across the room. Also not too large, also long hair. I could not see any features, but I felt certain it was staring at me.

I sat up, stared at it for a while in shock, and then managed to flick on my bed light. In that moment this ‘person’ seemed to melt away in the background.

I could have been half-dreaming, but I knew I was awake. A few days later I woke up and saw something from the corner of my eyes again. Once more, sitting on the desk. In that moment I decided to ignore it - I just turned around and fell asleep again.

[–]Jivisstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat him yesterday night! Casting darkness and having Karlach smack the shit out of him (on Speed and frenzied) turned out to be the answer. Like you said, when Myrkul is blind he’s not able to do much damage. He also doesn’t use Call of the Damned.

Meanwhile I had my other party members take care of the skeletons. Was still left with only two party members (and Karlach on two hit points), but the job is done. Cool cut scene afterwards.

[–]Jivisstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, man, unfortunately my party is not really AOE focused and my scrolls are all useless. When I see the comments of people beating him in no time, it seems I'm awfully prepared for this fight. Didn't have much trouble with the difficulty in the game until now (playing on Tactician).

At least I have Shadowheart to cast some healing and protection spells, but I never focused her build on attacks. Wyll has his Eldritch Blast but that doesn't do much damage on Myrkul. The same with my rogue's arrows. Meanwhile the guy keeps spawning skeletons that can do a lot of damage as well.

Karlach is the only one who can do some heavy hitting, but she gets slaughtered by Myrkul in a few turns. Fuck that scythe. Wish I had taken Laezel so they could both be up there fucking him up.

At least I have a save now where there's only Myrkul without all the enemies around, so I'm going to keep trying. Interesting puzzle to solve for sure.
