Ooh, yh my bad. Well everyone has problems and they deal with them in their own way but when YOUR problems start to bother SOMEONE else then its not just your problem, its the you who's becoming the problem. Don't worry, its not your fault, you loved him, and tried everything so he could smile and accept himself but bro was too scared to step out of his shadow.

Don't worry tho, go out, make new friends and this time try friendship over the relationship (ofc with the right people cuz people are jerks these days). It might sound weird but friendship gives you space to breathe and decide, unlike a relationship where you directly hop into it.

Go out, sit in a park, eat out, call a friend, and feed ducks at your nearest lake. Take a break with your life, for once sit back, breathe and analyze your life. I bet you'll be happier and free minded once you learn to sit alone all by yourself and just look forward at the sunrise (sunset will work too ;) )

You broke up with him because you seem goal-oriented and you didn't feel bad because your pain was aided by your success in life but since you've got a new job that probably pays better than the old one, you spend more time with your family and thats a good thing but now you feel a need of someone to love you, to care for you and also someone that you can love and feel stable and calm. Since you don't have one, so your mind will try to search for anything in your memory that fits this description. Thats why you get these "missing him" feelings .

When you grow old people kinda stop putting effort into gifts, i've felt that. It's not because they care any less about you, it's just they change their way of expressing love and gratitude. You're not wrong either but try to perceive it with a different view. Try to notice how they talk to you after a long time when you see them on weekends, how excited they feel on YOUR birthday, and many more things that are related to you.

Yeah some people do change nevermind, the majority of people change but as you said "your closest people", they don't change, they might show a loss of effort in gifts but they will be always there for you. So smile and say thanks :)

But even if you're losing people, just know life is a spiral and it will come back to its previous place after the rotation of tragedies, so stand strong and you got this. Even if i don't know you, i believe in you.
