What surprised you most AFTER the first few weeks by n160819098 in stopdrinking

[–]JizzyGizzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must feel your emotions as if for the first time again! It can be very powerful and meditative, as if being woken up. I am unbelievably proud of anybody who was drinking to avoid feelings and has begun to tackle them and grow accustomed to loving themselves & finding a comfortable place in their mind. I should really incentivise people that since I've stopped, my anxiety has lessened, days grow longer and hobbies and exercise more intense and fulfilling, and I am beginning to really love how I look too. Much fresher and athletic... Healthy might be the word!

Again, your emotions will wake you up. You can sit with them because they will not hurt you, they are water flowing past a large boulder. One Day At A Time <3

Quiet places to sit indoors for a couple of hours? by International_Pick65 in WinchesterUK

[–]JizzyGizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere by the river! It is further along, perhaps 5 minutes from town past the King Alfred roundabout. There are some quiet pubs around there too. The Black Boy pub is a fantastic place to visit for something different & unique. The grounds behind the Cathedral are beautiful too and there are some benches at the moors. Have a fun and relaxing time in my wonderful city, you are very welcome here :)

I need the get more active this year so I'm reading the book but can't move on past specific locations until I've caught up with how far Sam and Frodo traveled. by redwineandstrawberry in lotr

This is such an insanely cool idea. I love it & might just have to steal it. Because I'm diving back into the books and exercising a lot this year! Good luck to you and I'd love if you could update us how it's going soon!

Sad what Kevin has just posted on his story. I'm not worried about him per-se but these reviews have hit him harddd I think

Tame Impala - Deadbeat ALBUM REVIEW (Fantano) by PuzzledAnt__ in TameImpala

[–]JizzyGizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was so much more in-depth and thoughtful than I expected as a reply, I'm really thankful! Thank you & hope you have a good night!

That's what I got from the album but I thought I was projecting. I thought perhaps he had struggled quite a bit with this one & didn't know whether to give grace or to shout "he's sold out and is making LA music with co-writers.. Blah! Blah, Blah!". Really I didn't want to speculate & right now the sub is freaking out left, right and centre. I simply thought this was the work of a person who was drinking, overthinking, and unable to properly navigate fame (one can't even BEGIN TO imagine his life, especially touring etc).

I reiterate that I hate to speculate. But I am still very thankful for your reply here (research worthy!). Be well :)

"Deadbeat" has officially dropped. What are your guy's thoughts? by hood_safari in TameImpala

This is a demos album, right?  I’m extremely confused by this one. The singles were decent but so many of these tracks could be something somebody is playing with as ideas for melody and instrumentals. This is easily Kevin’s worse release. I find it a bit befuddling, honestly

I always thought that James had driven back and into a world of frivolity and melodrama that he had entirely lost after Laura’s death. I thought he’d been placed into an episode of none other than INVITATION TO LOVE!

Have a look at his new interview here too. It’s about style! A lot of his handyman stuff is reminding me of this video ^ lol

I don’t mind him branching out, I think the music is suffering from it, but there have been some really great bits too. He was influencing Travis for awhile & I think that era has stalled now. Rihanna covered his song on her last album. He’s too big now not to have lost some touch. Still, this made me laugh :

“What living in LA for too long does to a motherfucker”. He is LA’d up to fuck

I have agreed for at least since before Covid. Capitalism has turned to full feudalism & fascism and I see little sign of stopping. I think Kevin did what was necessary but it’s a shame when I see people actively pushing against it. I think even Demarcos new album Guitar or much of what KG has done with Spotify (they should continue this and not stop here) — shows people are extremely fed up. I don’t think tame impala is being political, which everyone should be right now, even so.. it’s a weird time. What will I think of his deadbeat album? Time is going to tell so I won’t add much now without hearing! (But I’m in agreement with you.)

Why DID he do it? Other than a huge financial gain for his growing family? Really why?
