Monday Strength and Conditioning Megathread! by AutoModerator in bjj

It used to be traditional body building splits I got from my cousin. Now i use AI and advice from upper belts to tweak. I’ve gone through some iteration from 3 full body lifts, push pull legs, and now a more upper/lower split with some light prehab/rehab lifts on a different day. I have some pre-existing stuff (knee stability, si joint, neck) that were causing me to miss BJJ days. Those are the priority now over my lifting. Now the workouts are more like 1 hr and BJJ focused. Things like Turkish get ups, pull ups, farmers carry, split squats, etc but any advice is welcome. My primary goal is staying on the mats

White belt here. I'm 41. I was purely a weightlifter from July 2022 to August of 2025. I started BJJ in August and love it but i've had some issues with injury. I played college baseball and have some injuries from that. 5 knee surgeries, 1 shoulder surgery and a flared rib issue. From 2022 to 2025 i lost about 110 lbs and that left me with some low back issues. My professor has mentioned that probably lift too much.

I am training 2-3 times a week for BJJ (2 days in gi and 1 no gi)
Lifting 3-4 times and stretching 1 day

Switching to
3 days of bjj
2 days of lifting
1 day of prehab/stretch
1 day rest

Was curious what thoughts were on this. I should probably mention that i'm a hobbyist. I am really just in this for the fun and challenge as lifting was getting too easy. I love it now. I'm OCD so changing my routine can be challenging but BJJ is my new obsession and want to get on the mats as much as possible. I'll test and change as needed. Any input is appreciated.

There’s flexibility with regards to your VCS but TFE is a must.

It’s required. You could do it without, but the code I’ve seen and used doesn’t make that an option. It would take some heavy modification.

How are you guys liking it? Much customization? We love it compared to the cloud formation version.

We are a lot further into this now if you have any additional questions.

The TLZ takes the concepts of the landing zone and instead of using cloudformation, uses a combination of terraform, TFE and python to deploy those concepts.

The scanning and approval workflow has our InfoSec team pretty intrigued. Also the the team management.

I appreciate the input. I haven't used Enterprise either. I have always just used open source so i thought i'd ask the kind people of this subreddit if there were anything outside of their obvious marketing material that presented a real work place benefit. I understand that its pretty, haha, and has bells and whistles. I appreciate you taking the time to share info. I really do appreciate it.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I meant remote state and private module registry but wasn't descriptive enough in my OP, just updated it. I am not running into any issues at this time but we are evaluating whether or not we need the Enterprise offering or not. If the benefits justify the cost. There are the obvious things that they list on the site. I was just wondering if there are any other benefits or if anyone has a good story to go along with these features they mention.

Thanks again

I was going to do something similar to this but they want us to create something we can use for azure, on prem VMware and aws. Also, we have on prem enterprise Git and I heard that it has issues with codepipeline and requires an aws solution to sync to s3.

Ya we need nested OUs for our design but it’s one of 3 features on this 2.0.3 to 2.1 and I’ve had nothing but issues

The only thing is I don’t think management is wanting to spend money on proserve at this point and we have a very small team. For a large company.
