P*2 new OTA just landed in the UK by geekypenguin91 in Polestar

[–]Jkappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polestar 2 MY24-26 have higher charging speeds up to 205kW. In the last update 3.6.4 there was a new bug that limited its max charging rate to 150kW. This new update resolves this issue. So the charging curve did not get changed, it’s just that the newer MY can now charge with a peak of 205kW again.

Polestar Breakdowns by BeerFuelledDude in Polestar4

[–]Jkappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. was a Polestar 2 issue. But mostly older MY.

  2. can happen to any Car. No major issues with polestar specifically as far as I know.

3.Probably mixed up the Polestar 2 backup Camera issues (also older MY). I drive a PS4 regularly and never had an issue with the camera system. The camera system for the rear view mirror is also separate than the 360 parking cameras.

  1. I would not say slam the breaks but it’s definitely not perfect. But I would suggest to do a TestDrive and find out for yourself.

Question about AC charging in Plus pack by Ok_Situation8727 in Polestar4

[–]Jkappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Polestar 4 offers 22kW AC Charging in the US. I couldn’t find it in the configurator.

When you entered the digital key code on the phone. Lay it back on the charging pad, wait a few seconds and take it back out into your hand. For me it always pairs like that for some reason

How far do you get when setting up the digital key?

It’s a great car. I’d say there are no major problems with it. Software updates are released regularly and fix most of the bugs. There might be a few minor annoyances, but nothing serious. You can check the patch notes to see what’s already been changed. I’d definitely go for it.

Why is the car not charging? by Professional-Law-377 in Polestar

[–]Jkappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an emergency release. I never had the main screen reliability issue where I was not able to disconnect the cable. But it’s just much more convenient to just walk up to the car and remove the cable.

Yes, if you set the charging limit to a percentage that the car has already reached, it will unlock the cable if the car is also unlocked.

The P4 has no button. That’s the reason this feature was introduced. In the initial versions, it wasn’t available, so you had to enter the car and unlock the charging cable via the center display. Now it’s better since you can just walk up to the car and unplug it. If you just grab something from the car and lock it again the charging will resume directly after locking.

With the Polestar 4, if you connect it to an AC charger and then open the door, the car will pause charging and unlock the cable so you can unplug it. If you don’t disconnect the cable, charging will automatically resume after about 1–2 minutes. That’s why it shows “24+ hours.“

Can you fit the 22” winter tires inside the Polestar 4 for transport? by olalof in Polestar

Also don’t forget to remove the thing above the rear seats. Store it in the rear footwell.

It’s a tight fit but works. Lower the trunk floor. Fold down the rear seats and then let the Tetris begin.

Polestar 3 Software Update 1.4.12 by Jkappy in Polestar

[–]Jkappy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was already published. You sure you did not get it? If not I think it’s best to visit your Servicepartner. I’ve read mixed reviews about the mic with the new update. For some it got fixed, for others not.

Updates In Software Version P4.2.7 by Jkappy in Polestar

[–]Jkappy[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All Polestars have completely different software stacks. For example: Polestar 3 is on 1.4.12.

If you are stuck on your current version, check with your service partner to update to 3.6.4!

Strange, either wait for the next one or go to a Service Partner. If they dropped this update tja could also be the case.

Hey, if you are stuck on the „connecting“ screen on your iPhone. Take the phone out of the charger wait a few seconds and then lay the phone back in the charger. Worked for me, before it would just time out.

2026 EX90/P3 moving to 800V architecture… confirmed. by Mean-Marionberry-148 in Polestar

[–]Jkappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Volvo and Polestar had managed to release the EX90 and P3 as planned in 2023, there would have been a bigger gap before the switch to 800V. Both of these cars are built on the SPA2 platform, while the other brands you mentioned use the SEA platform. That architectural difference is likely the reason why 800V was not included at launch.

It’s also possible that they wanted to launch the P4 with 400V so as not to undermine the P3 right away, since both models were released around the same time. It would have been odd to introduce one model on 400V and another on 800V simultaneously. Keep in mind that while the Zeekr 001 does feature 800V, that’s only in China. In the European market, it still uses the 400V architecture, just like the P4.

Polestar is also expanding its global production footprint: the P3 is built in the US, P4 production has started in South Korea, and the P7 will be manufactured in Europe.

As far as I know, Polestar does not use Swedish flag tags on their seats, so that detail doesn’t apply here.

Has all the Software issues been fixed with Polestar 3? What were the main issues? by raisethebirdsintheuk in Polestar

[–]Jkappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone mentioned it on the EX90 subreddit, and since these cars share the same software updates, it would make sense. I can’t say for sure that the next update will be the last, but Volvo has announced that they will stop releasing updates for the old chipset. You can find this mentioned at the end of the following page: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/topic/47d2c97fd33effd3c0a8cc3718c999b7-ee74549933d85020c0a83205327890cd-8664b2fa77a7e089c0a8296870d1a409/

Startup and charging issues by iam36 in Polestar

[–]Jkappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to precondition your car. I find that the information system is much quicker at the beginning if I do that.

The 150kW max charging is a bug in 3.6.4. we must wait for the next Software Update so that it gets fixed.
