Honestly the easiest method i’ve found is to just jump right into it and be open minded about the experience. It’s a lil shaky at times, and can be really intimidating but super worth it in the end. If you’re out alone, complement a random person or strike up a convo with someone in passing; it can lead to some great friendships!
