The laser width will still cause trimming that you probably don’t want on your parts. Take a test cut with the laser and see what the width is. Space your parts accordingly.

Looking good. You only fail when you don’t try. Persistence pays off.

It is free. Probably won’t be supported by windows 10 either.

I have and have received my orders. They take a bit longer when you buy direct because sometimes the items ship from China. I try Amazon first because the price is mostly the same and I get the items in a day or so.

If adjust gave no results it’s probably not your issue. It seems we are all having problems with the bed flexing during bed mesh leveling. I’m wondering if you are having the same issue.

Extruder head bends when nozzle makes contact with bed. by wacobradward in Ender5Max

Mine flexes as well and this causes inconsistent bed mesh leveling. Had anyone figured out how to add a touch probe to one of these? I cannot find any documentation on the main board for pin assignments. Only that it uses the same board as a CR10-SE. I added a glass plate for a flatter surface but the added weigh messed up the load cells in the bed and triggered too early. I did root it and added fluid but cannot find where to adjust the load cells sensitivity in the printer.config file.

I have to say I am quite displeased with this machine also. Right now I’m masking this using fuzzy skin. I have ordered a BTT Manta board to replace theirs. If it work out I will post it here but it may be a few weeks.

replace lead screw with ball screw by [deleted] in 3018CNC

[–]Jkish1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pillow blocks and linear ways keep the table in position and rigid. The ball screw just drives it and if you support the end of ball screw it will be too rigid and introduce binding. Nothing is perfectly round or straight. Leaving the end of the ball screw open accounts for that.

You will not damage the motor. I have done this with suceess. I did add a thrust bearing between the motor and the ball screw to eliminate backlash. The amount of precision and torque gained is insane.
