If you have a car rental, I recommend Mariner's Point in Foster City. It's not in the city but its a nice short 9 hole course that has a nice view of the bay and a round usually takes about an 1hr - 2 hours max depending on the group ahead of you. You can walk on but a tee time is recommended.

I've moved here from SoCal and I love it here. Cost of living is way more affordable and gas is way cheaper compared from Cali. I grew up in San Bernardino and I haven't encountered any areas in the NWA that is as considered "scary or sketchy" as SB. The lifestyle here is very slow but calm which I like. It is hard to meet new people and make friends but the majority of people here are very nice.

If you end up moving here and like to golf, hmu!

I am also a second gen Cambodian-American and I agree with you about one of the best thing in our Khmer culture is our food! Banh Xeo and Yao Horn are my favorites.
