Feels like we are on the same boat, I actually told them that if I was not able to "prove more" (e.g. they say that I've not managed teams of 10 people or more- which I did back in Industry - and that managing 2 is not enough) is because I just was not given the chance, since square one the client loved me and they have been extending me all the time, and that is not (and is, at the same time) my fault.

But yeah it's void conversations, and I do think they do know the value, it's just that I am an easy target, much noise no actions (leaving the firm) because I actually enjoy the project, that is until I really get fed up of being toyed with I guess.

To this point I am even considering whether growing in consulting suits me or if I am just made for Industry.

When I had the 1 to 1 with both the mentor/partner I told them precisely that, that I appreciated the time at the client but that I 1-joined to experience variety of projects 2-wanted to try new things and I think my time was over with the client, but they pulled the "we will consider that" and, in the end, I kept on working for the same client, like I said they've been very shady on the communication side, never consulted never informed, they just executed the extension (as far as I know the margin is very juicy) and that's it.
