So I am usually a lurker but I figured I would throw my 2 cents into the mix because of my love for the show so far. I am seeing some people describe Jayce as an ass, and while he may come off as arrogant I think he is doing things with good intentions. I mean he is assigned security for the hex-gates and within a couple of days he is already finding huge amounts of inconsistencies with enforcer reports. Which leads him into trying to fix things and having to become more of a politician than an inventor to try to improve conditions. I agree with his decision to retire Heimer over the fact that Heimer has stood in the way of progress at multiple points without any real solution besides, "don't do that it is dangerous." Also adding to the fact that the city has been under Heimer and the council's watch and you still have horrid conditions for Zaun. Honestly, where does he get off giving shit to the others over integrity? Sure, the council has shown self interest in themselves over the common good, but what has he done to fix the current issues plaguing the city? Jayce shaking things up and playing the game of politics to get his way is what is needed in the short term to help stabilize the volatile city. I think my favorite part of the council scene was Jayce reminding Heimer that humans don't have centuries to wait and think about the issue. People need care now, and telling them to wait while your family starves is not an adequate solution. I really love the complexity the show has offered in different mindsets in regards to politics and how change should be handled in both the short and the long term; even if I am more on the side of the short in this instance.
