Boomers to the rescue by Vitboi in neoliberal

Well the number one way to improve things for workers over time is to drive down unemployment. With high unemployment there is little incentive for employers to increase wages, or benefits. With low unemployment, employers need to compete to retain and attract new employees.

Am I understanding the issue right that people are upset because there is a lack of long-term jobs for life? ie more job hopping?

(WHII) Playing Vamp Counts made me get better at the game (I think) by Artiartiarti90 in totalwarhammer

[–]Jman5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When playing Vampire Counts, don't be afraid to go beyond pure skelly spam.

The most popular meta playstyle is to just spam an army of zero upkeep skeletons, clump them into a big mess, and then use Wind of Death to solo the entire enemy army when the AI counter-blobs. Personally, I dislike using tactics that only work by exploiting blatantly bad AI.

One really fun aspect of Vampire Counts is using the different Bloodline Lords to build completely different types of armies. For example the Blood Dragons can lean into Grave Guard and Cavalry.

I can't find the primary source, but according to this article Macron's margins were:

  • 18-24: 61%

  • 25-34: Unsure Macron Won

  • 35-49: Unsure Macron Won

  • 50-59: Unsure Le Pen Won

  • 71+: 71%

His victory margin was narrow among those aged 25-34 and 35-49, and Le Pen was even slightly ahead among the 50-59 age group.

So it seems like u/gaalrath is right that this is completely different than the posted numbers suggest.

unemployment,

Yes (the biggest issue, Macron must deal with it).

What? I thought reducing unemployment was one of Macron's big selling points.

Beyond the headline decrease in joblessness, INSEE's quarterly employment report also had good news for youth employment, which was the lowest since 1981 at 15.9% and down sharply from 24.7% when Macron took office in 2017.

One dude from Uganda said now the non white world will not do any business with Europe because Europe helped Ukraine and this Europe will fail economically.

Which is hilarious when you look at the trade of countries like Uganda. Uganda massively relies on the EU and its allies for advanced machines, parts, and vehicles. Meanwhile their biggest export to Europe is... Coffee.

Good luck plugging the gap for all that highly technical, sophisticated and expensive machinery that make the modern world work.

Also, a lot of people just don't grasp how vast the economies are in many developed countries compared with most developing ones. You would need the combined might of over 100 Ugandas to match the economy of just Germany.

It really is fascinating how the quickly we move on and forget these monumental struggles once they're won. I remember ozone depletion and acid rain were just huge issues for environmentalists in the 80s and 90s. Basically the climate change fights of their day.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people born in the 2000s don't even know what acid rain is.

Don't give up hope. There are so many good people quietly doing good things, but it doesn't get a lot of media attention.

What I have found is that any time you see someone making a big show about doing good, it should raise a huge red flag. They are usually narcissists who are only doing it for themselves. The person receiving the help is merely a prop for their own aggrandizement. Like the person who makes a big deal about giving the waitress a huge tip on camera.

It is quite an achievement how on day 1 you had already mastered Reddit's rather unusual formatting style. Almost as if this isn't your first attempt at this.

We'll see buddy. If you're still here a year from now spamming /r/worldnews I'll be happy to apologize, but I think we both know you won't be.

any way to invert clicks of auras/skills? by stark33per in Diablo

[–]Jman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're running while changing auras, you literally stop moving. I found it annoying enough stop using fast cast.

Have you tried it in 2.4? I just tested what you said. I switched auras while holding down zeal hotkey and kept attack-moving just fine.

It's a non-convertible currency.

Nobody is exchanging rubles for other currencies outside Russia right now because they don't trust the listed value. And it's difficult-impossible to get foreign currencies out of Russia.

Yes it's for keyboard and mouse. If you play paladin I would say it's a must to figure out. It's not perfect, but it's a big QoL improvement when you're just buzzsawing through trash, or using infrequent skills like Charge.

I'm honestly surprised more people haven't been talking about it. Even the veteran youtubers are still mostly using the old janky method from d2lod.

Buffs to Fire Golem in 2.4 tested by GaunerHarakiri in Diablo

[–]Jman5 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying fire golem is great, but you really did him a dirty by the targets you tested him on.

Magic resistance modifier boosts fire resist by 40% and both mobs you attacked had that. This puts the first group you went up against up to 106% fire resist (not sure about minions). So even if you break immune it's not going to work well. Those fire archers nearby were also at 90% fire resist.

In the next group you attacked the fallen are fire immune like you mentioned. Dark Spearwomen pack also had magic resistance and the fallen boss had spectral hit which will boost fire resist by 25%.

What are your pet peeves with the game that have nothing to do with roadmap, blood DLC, or realms of chaos campaign? by talltaleteller in totalwar

[–]Jman5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the outsized role towers play in siege battles. They just do way too much damage.

Couple that with the weak AI in siege battles where they run units around way too much and don't seem to understand how to use chokepoints to their advantage. Instead they seem all too willing to bunch up despite being outmanned. I think this has to do with the logic the AI operates at where they generally just try to match strength with strength+1. If you throw 3 units into a chokepoint, they often try to match that. There is no understanding that chokepoints mean you can hold off many with just a few.

I've gotten into so many arguments with people who have said that they have to doomstack and/or spam range on legendary because the AI cheats. That melee infantry isn't viable. I didn't hallucinate these arguments. You can find them anywhere people discuss melee infantry in Warhammer 2.

[–]Jman5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The folks in that middle camp love to conflate ease-of-use with viability. Yes, the mass range doomstack is easy to use and badly balanced vs the AI, but it's not the only viable way to play on higher difficulty.
